    Why is it so expensive?

    • because it looks like a monitor

      • Must have RGB lights to get me interested… :)

Anyone who spends $429 on such a basic microwave can only be described as a fool.

    • Really?

      • -1

        Yes especially for this brand.

        • So whats a good price/Brand ?

    • +1

Yeah foolish like paying for free games…

Can’t comment on the quality of the microwave but for someone who is in the market for a built in microwave with trim kit, this looks like a good price. The most decent price trim kit I found is the IKEA one here
But otherwise the trim kits really seem to be very expensive and I really don’t understand why.
Also, the sizes of these are so tiny for the price.

Cheers, been looking for a few days to replace an Ilve iv602bim
Next cheapest i found was a bautmatic from bcf (lol) for $349
      https://cbfappliances.com.au/product/baumatic-bamg28tk-studi…
Then it was the bunnings bellini and similar looking models under $400
I found a smeg with trim @ $499 But it just looks so shit!

Hoping i can find a deal for the white IV605 , OOS @ $899, just stunning!

@BL1TZKRE1G: I have a Tecknica one that game with the house and is one of the worst microwaves I have ever used.

I am also looking to replace it and was wondering what your experience was with the ILVE?

The Ariston posted above has the exact same dimensions as my current one and seem to have quite good reviews.

Would you go Ariston or ILVE?

            Thank you

@pt87: The ilve does the job for basic tasks (heat up milk /coffee etc)
It's a pain in the ass to change the globe which i've had to do a few times.
They insist that you take it to an ILVE tech for a light change.. Not really powerful and just seems to take a while to get going.
This shitty flimsy plastic in between the bottom push buttons and board broke, so its been sitting in pieces for months.
Theres fuc* all replacement parts/support online. I don't have any Ariston products.
Id go for easy local warranty big brand LG Samsung Bosch Whouse etc for practicality
Id go ilve if i already have other ilve products and want that designer kitchen look

                @BL1TZKRE1G: Thanks for that!
I need to get something with the trim kit so the options are so limited.

My brother has an LG one and they are so good! Wish they had trim kits for them

              • @BL1TZKRE1G: It’s possible to get a replacement plastic “spring plate” (not sure what u call it) for the buttons. Have u called the Ilve office in Leichhardt NSW?

I need to take our 600BIM out to disassemble too.

                • @Paranoid Perry: Hey mate, called ilve spare parts (eurolinx)1300 856 411 , was asked to email a photo of the part I wanted to [email protected]
He’ll get back to me with price/availability.
Just need to remember how to put it all back together now 🤔

Had an Ariston rangehood (a basic 60cm one)… Really poor quality…. Hope their microwaves are any better? I wouldn't spend ~$400 on an Ariston product.

    • +2

rangehood <add your band name here> usually poor quality. :)

      • Schweigen?

  • <insert abhorrent RRP>
