  • Which model is the better buy?

Pretty sure they are all the same

    • They are all essentially identical cards designed by AMD, each brand just repackages them and might have a brand logo somewhere on the card. They all look and perform the same.

      • I have the MSI, can confirm no MSI branding on the board.

For $50 more, aren't you better off preordering the rx6800xt from Harvey Norman? Much better performance than this one

    • isnt that a preorder? these appear to be in stock now

    aaaaand sold out, wow

    • +1

There are 9 other models available as of right now

    • The ASRock reference is still available

    • Yep my mistake, the link from the OP is sold out, perhaps updating to this link showing all the cards will help?

      • I've been monitoring this page daily and this is/was an unprecedented amount of 6800 cards available at once. Usually you're lucky to see 1 or 2 posted. PC Case Gear must've received a massive (relatively speaking) shipment.

Hopefully a sign that things are picking up. I'm still waiting on my 5900x I ordered almost 2 months ago…

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't RRP for the reference RX 6800 $949? And the RX 6800XT is $1049

    • +1

      Yep correct!

  • That went quickly

  • I want to get a reference 6800xt, cheaper and the same performance

    • 6800XT should be better to be honest.

  • Damn it, I wanted this one. Got alerts set up for the next one now.

  • Welcome to "OzRRP"..

It seems to be the times we live in lately.. sadly

A bargain or not a bargain doesn't necessarily correlate with price difference from rrp

An item can be over rrp and still be considered a bargain

Or an item can be under rrp and still not be considered a bargain

Judging a bargain by comparing with rrp is misleading

      • Perhaps purely form a time based metric (ie. must have the newest thing as quickly as possible), you may perceive that to be a bargain at RRP..
But if its something that would be great to have but you are willing to wait the time for supply to meet demand, a bargain is not RRP..

I understand the pandemic has hit supply of many products hard but I sure hope this site doesn't just become "hey a product is finally in stock and can be bought for RRP" type of site..

        • "hey a product is finally in stock and can be bought for RRP" type of site..

What irritates me most is that we can't block off these "bargains" from our sight, especially because most of these RRP or above RRP posts are by new users.

I'm not irritated by the new users, I'm irritated by this website as it has no functions/settings/rules for us to set, to block off said posts. Like you can't even block off GPU posts as a whole from the Computing tab. You also cannot set a threshold limit (e.g. $1100 for RTX3080 or 6800XT) for posts. Zero customise-ability.

But since OzRRP has no real competition, it's going to be ages until they start making changes. For now you will just have to accept the fact that the computing tab for Oz"Bargain" is dead for some GPU's and some CPU's.

      • yeah i feel like it's important with GPUs atm not to conflate "RRP" with "price that this item can obtained at with minimal difficulty"

I not only use this website for bargains, but also availability.

  • Anyone received their shipping information yet? Just curious :)

    • Not yet - kinda frustrating for something which is "in stock"
