    rubbish.

    • +6

what do you mean rubbish? You know that each individuals has different tolerance with caffeine yeah?

      • That's fair enough, not everyone has a high tolerance to caffeine or wants a lot of stim in their pre-workout but the levels of everything else in there are also not high enough to do anything. There's more to a good pre-workout than caffeine alone. If you're taking it purely for the caffeine, buy caffeine tabs off ebay and save yourself some coin.

That said, in terms of pre-workout, you actually need quite a high amount for it to be beneficial for strength gains. A dosage this low will not do anything in that department, it will wake you up a little but serve no benefit other than that. All other research says doses above 300mg are required for strength gains (which is why good pre-workouts are high, A low dose for strength and endurance purposes is around 3mg/kg bodyweight.

    • My only caffeine consumption comes from pre workout and c4 works great. But if you consume caffeine on a regular basis it's probably not for you.

The only caffeine product I use is pre-workout as well but C4 does nothing for me. Lolli water

    • Not sure why you got down voted for speaking the truth.

    • Whats good?

      • +2

I don't take pre anymore. A cup of short black is enough to help me.. good diet, creatine and plant based protein.

        Keep it simple.

        • Very zen

  • This preworkout did nothing for me, no pump or real energy boost.
To be fair I do have a high caffeine tolerance although still found a cup of black coffee gave me more of a kick than this.

  • Had C4 once, even with a high caffiene tolerance this is the only preworkout that has given me the jitters (even trying it for a few weeks).

Also happened to be the worst tasting preworkout.

    Decent price though!

  • I believe C4 "Sport" is their weakest version on the market.

  • How much caffeine and creatine per serve in this one?

    • 135mg Anhydrous

  • 135mg per serve as this is the sports version.
Most pre workouts have 2x this amount, the more hardcore ones having 3x.
If you're just looking for a cheaper alternative to energy drinks, at 1.5x scoops it equates to $1 per serving which is still decent value.

Disappointed, thought this thread was about another kind of C4.
    No, not a Citroën either…

  • Not even worth $20….
Prop blend but a terrible amount of everything in it really. 135mg caffeine and 4.9g of combined Creatine, Beta Alanine, AAKG and salt.
The clinical dose of AAKG is 3-6g, same with Creatine and Beta Alanine so having less than 5g of all 3 combined (plus salt, so somewhere around 1-1.5g of each) will do next to nothing. Not to mention creatine is the biggest preworkout filler going around. Works great yes but is cheap to fill out the scoop and generally under dosed.

For $20 you're better off getting Musashi when it's half price at Chemist Warehouse but even that won't do heaps for pump/focus etc.

do you know a pre workout that has all the clinical doses in check that are worth taking?

      • The expensive ones generally…can find them on special occassionally.
Red Con 1 Total War, Koala Freak, Blackstone Labs Dust X, Arms Race Harness, Rule 1 Pre Train etc. Bear in mind they are generally pretty heavy stim so the come down can be savage. From memory Hydraulic by Axe & Sledge is a good one with no stim/caffeine if you train late at night.

Nutrition Warehouse usually has decent prices if/when you can find stock.

  • C4 = flavoured water prop blend with some low-level caffeine added. If you want a knock out punch, try Total War or Muscle Nation.

Pre-workout gives you a great pump but also causes depression and loss of sleep due to huge amounts of caffeine, amongst other effects. Before gym get an orange, green apple, and a beetroot and chuck it in the juicer and drink that instead. You can good sugars from the fruits and beetroot is natures pre-workout.
