  • Anyone have any feedback on this, according to Choice it performs the same as much cheaper Yamaha Yas-108?

    • The Yamaha brand models are confusing. Yamaha 108, 1080, 108B. I can't tell which model is the OzBargain model of choice.

      • I agree, I owned one but the ARC didn't work with my old TV so ended up gum treeing. I rang there support and basically they said they were all the same. Still can't remember which model it was.

        • Had some issues at the start but they fixed it with firmware updates for the ARC. Hasn't skipped a beat since. Shame because the 109 and the new one are downgraded in some ways from the original 108

      • They all the same specs

    • I can't speak of comparisons to yas108 but some people may value getting a speaker that works in the Sonos ecosystem.

One thing that's disappointing with this being advertised with 2 Sonos ones and sub for surround is that it only supports the very old Dolby Digital standard. This means that Netflix and Amazon prime will either be silent (as is the case with my TVs built in app) or outputted as stereo.. even for standalone this sucks as you want a seperate centre channel for dialogue.

    • First I was disappointed with the Sonos beam and moving from logitech Z623. Then I added the Sonos sub gen 3 and 2 surround Sonos one SL and I defenitely cannot complain. It is that joyful to listen to music or watch videos.

If you're just going to buy the beam and not planning on sub or surround speakers then I'd suggest you look at other speaker system for the same value.

You honestly can't be comparing the beam to the Logitech Z623 can you?

          Z623 are legendary speakers

          • @HardcoreDBZ: The two are like night and day. The Z623 doesn't have any DTS etc. And isn't anywhere near as loud.

@HardcoreDBZ: Legendary according to who? No speaker that logitech puts out has ever been legendary. They are mostly designed for use on PC's while playing games.

              @keejoonc: WRONG!

              • @JuryWheel: Typing in capital letters doesn't make you right you know? Logitech sure must be magicians if they can produce "legendary" speakers that only cost so little. lol

  • Purchased the other day from TGG. Really enjoying it so far. Paid only 474, just asked for a deal.

  • This or a Sony HT-X8500?

    • According to choice this is better (and cheaper maybe.)

  • Had mine for around 12 months now and very happy with it, the integration with the TV is great as you only need to use the TV remote to adjust the volume. It also has google assistant and Alexa integrated To be fair I had a couple of older Sonos 1 used elsewhere and after few months used these for surround sound, which improved it somewhat.

  • I bought directly from Sonos recently, and returned it. After connecting with my Samsung QLED Series 6 TV, I realised I cannot connect to my Wireless Headphones as an option, and too many things showed up in the Input Connections Page showing Sonos Folder Directory etc. Not sure if others have had this issue, but for me it wasn’t worth the trouble.

  • Ive got the beam and 2 Sonos one SL, fairly impressed with the setup but I’m not audiofile.
I was surprised though that there was no Bluetooth connection.
I now need to upgrade my TV…

  • Anyone have HDMI issues with theirs, requiring a restart? Waa tempted to go the optical route instead for a more stable connection but not sure if the volume will still work with my tv (TCL) remote

Pretty comprehensive review here, definitely needs to have the Sub added for maximum sound.

  • Missed the $400 deal from TGG and been kicking myself since

  • Shows as $525 now
