Catch of the Day - UNiROSS Fast 1 Hour Charger plus 4 x AA NiMH Cells - NOW CLOSED

110

Uniross cells are unknown to me but for a charger with wall 240v supply and a car adapter this is a very good deal pricewise at $12.95 + $7.95.p&p

Note that 2700 Mah is definitely a high capacity cell for an AA and would give an excellent run time for a camera or flash unit.

  • I'm sure that these were mentioned in a thread a few weeks ago, although I can't find it now.

Perhaps another OzBargainer out there can recall???

  • can i put other rechargeable AA in?

  • @firepowered: As long as its Ni-MH its no problem

@Tea: The previous offer was for 2 express 300 chargers, with 4 x 2500mAH. This is a fast 1 hour charger with 4 x 2700mAh. Earl Grey tea is also my cup of choice.

  • can this be used for regular rechargable AA batteries?

or do i need some special recharable batteries to be able to recharge them in 1hr?

ive got a wii and it chews through my batteries like crazy, charging them is a pain

  • Twig - cannot be used for rechargable alkalines or nickel cadmium ccells - both types may fail spectacularly or simply refuse to charge at all.

Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) should be fine although charging at a one hour rate MAY worry some of the earlier cheaper Ni-MH cells in high temperature conditions but no spectacular failures :)) Really, a one hour charge is pretty usual for reasonable to good quality cells - it is only when you get to the 15 or 30 minute chargers that they become rough on the cells.

  • If it's a "dumb" timer charger, I think most people would better off getting the $30 eneloop 4 AA + charger pack from DSE. You get a similarly dumb charger, but superior batteries that don't have the notoriously high self-discharge rate of the highest capacity NiMHs.

  • I know this is old now, but just for future reference…

Uniross is the leader in rechargable batteries in Europe (I think they're French)

And at anyone who finds devices chew through rechargable batteries…you probably have Ni-Cad (Nicked Cadmium) batteries, really low capacity batteries and/or old batteries that are ready to be recycled.

Anything above 2000mah is pretty much standard now for AA batteries (you'll struggle to find anything more than 1100mah in AAA, expect 800-900mah)
