The great action-crazed, guns blazing, shoot ‘em up game comes back straight out of the ‘90s. Raptor: Call of the Shadows and its futuristic world are ready to challenge your flying skills.
Set in a futuristic world, your missions, as a mercenary, consist of flying the Raptor, a sophisticated combat craft and face the MegaCorps competitors through fierce air fights on diverse environments. Fight hordes of enemies, destroy their ships, collect the money and purchase more weapons to upgrade your Raptor jet.
[PC] Steam - Raptor: Call of The Shadows $1.50 (Was $7.50)

Worth it for the soundtrack alone
Thank you good sir!
I prefer the Sound Canvas version:
https://youtu.be/n9_gyTp9VesIt's how I play the game now anyway.
When I was young in primary school I had to settle for FM Synth.
Loved this game… sank so much of my childhood playing with my sound blaster knock off and thrustmaster joystick
Such a great game… like Deditus above, I grew up playing the shareware version on the library computers (yes I've used plural but there was really only two). Felt right to buy it on GOG.
Serious question though, I have Raptor Call of the Shadows 2010 edition on GOG. Is the 2015 edition on Steam any different?

I'm so (profanity) happy this was posted. I totally forgot about this game, part of my childhood playing this on a Windows 95 PC back in 97. Great game, would have paid $5. Thanks a lot OP!
Thank OP with an upvote XII! ;)
It's XIII and it was released in 2003.
Pleasure =)
Jeez all we need now is Xenon and Crusader No Remorse/No Regret for a nostalgia overload.
Get them on GOG. Crusader's controls are a bit dated. Quite frustrating to play.
I used to play this on my 486 for hours

Bought this month's earlier, agree great game but the tiny window it runs in leaves much to be desired on today's high res monitors.
Played for minutes for the nostalgia until I realised scaling options were limited and ended up as another few mins played game on my steam list.
I remember having this on a floppy disk. Great old school game in the great dark lands of DOS.
Hands down the best game out there and a little surprise at Christmas time. It was my childhood playing the shareware version of this on my 95 and 98.
Picked up an original boxed copy not so long ago.
This and Tyrian were ace!!
Yep. Schmups from before they got too hardcore.
And Raiden arcade those were excellent
Anyone remember the sequel to Raptor, Demonstar?
Funnily enough I never played Raptor but my school did have a lot of shareware installs of Demonstar floating around.
I just realised Bobby Prince, composer of the soundtracks for Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Duke Nukem, Rise of the Triad and Daikatana, also did the soundtrack for Demonstar.
OMG. Thank you! I've seen it on there but refused full price.
My Dad used to play this in my room when I was in primary school, literally he was up all night! So many memories tied to this game…. Mostly profanities when I'd get stuck on a level lol
my only complaint about this release is that the backspace key cheat for infinite money hasn't been properly implemented.
Take a look at this - money, weapons, god mode
You're a hero. thanks!
This is great fun, I used to play the shareware version but now own it on GOG. Very positive on Steam, 4.4 on GOG - well worth a dollar fifty.
