Either going to get this or the AOC 24G2 not sure whether to go the extra $200 for 1440p and lose the IPS.

    • I've got both in the house, tbh I prefer the LG. Extra size is nice, 1440p is a necessity at this point for me and the superior contrast is great for movies and games.

I'd only go with IPS if you're sensitive to the deficiencies of VA panels (can be found in the Hardware Unboxed review OP linked) or if you actually need the superior colour accuracy of IPS.

Good price. I have this for over a year now, its great bang for buck. 144hz and with correct settings there is no ghosting or blur i've ever seen even in FPS, which only the best VA's can manage.

    • What settings did you set?

      • +1

Main settings are Gamer mode 1, Freesync on 144hz, response time FAST. Best balance between avoiding overshoot and no noticeable ghosting, at least on the games i play.

The Viewsonic VX2758-2KP-MHD or the replacing model the VX2705-2KP-MHD are also good alternatives if you want an IPS panel.

I have the VX2758-2KP-MHD myself and I quite like it.

  • I have the LG32GK850G.

The G version is apparently better as it has an additional dedicated chip for Gysync. Love this monitor and for a VA panel it has absolutely no ghosting at all.

I can't comment on the F version, but I read before getting the G it does not perform as well with regards to ghosting/blurring

    • I have this F, freesync works fine no tearing and never noticed any ghosting once correctly setup (i also own a TN and 2 IPS).

  • Damn this is cheap. Makes me regret buying a used aoc with same specs for 450

  • Used this monitor for about a year. It's a fast 144hz but suffers badly in dark areas which show up as smearing. Really the only fault of it.

I've had it for a year. I agree it does smear with dark content, but no where near the levels of most VA panels. 90% of the time I don't notice it, and when I do notice it, it's not deal breakingly bad. It is something I'm sensitive to so I would complain about it if it was bad.

    • What content exactly? I have had for over a year and no issues in titles like BF2 & Doom.

      • I've got one other VA, a Samsung, and the smearing doesn't look as bad as this one. But I agree it's not a deal breaker as I soon forget about it. It's most noticeable when scrolling web pages containing differing tones of dark content. Otherwise it's very fast and has no issue keeping up with 144Hz and 60Hz content.

        • Can you give me an example to replicate? Curious. I suppose text over a dark background is imperfect but i would not call that smearing. I cannot recall experiencing what you describe and i use it for hours daily.

@Xizor: I notice it on Twitter if you set it to dark mode and use smooth scrolling. Look at people's avatars against the background of the website, if the avatar is black it'll have a large trail behind it. You can also see it in the Windows 10 settings if you set your windows to black. The text almost entirely smears away when you scroll. It's really just a problem with different tones of a dark background an elements on the page. I barely notice it with gaming though.

@Yuri Lowell: Interesting, i find that odd mate. Maybe we have some setting configured different or other variable in our setups/monitor lottery. I dont do twitter but tried windows 10 dark mode with my monitor settings scrolling text on dark background does loose some focus/clarity & maybe brightness even so briefly more than otherwise but no smearing or trails. Testufo.com i see no smearing/trails changing to black or otherwise. There would probably be a very tiny amount if i froze frame to find, but its splitting hairs. Im very familiar with ghosting (been fps gaming since original quake) and never see anything that has bothered me in the least with hundreds of hours ehh invested. :)

  • Back in stock.

Stop me spending my money op!

  • Hasn't anyone notice that the response time is actually 5ms GtG?

    1ms is LG's MBR response time. It's actually a 5ms monitor.

    • Hardware unboxed is not so unforgiving

So who actually got stock? I ordered 3 of them for my triple monitor setup at 9:13AM on Boxing day and have received an email today that they don't have stock….

However my brother was going to order 3 later that day, for a triple setup as well. It said there were only 2 left to him…. soooo clearly they should have had the stock for me!!!

Useless, will never be using them again, that's for sure!

Order cancelled because of no stock and now back at in stock @ full price.. what bee s

I ordered one of these, only to receive a message 2 days later asking to confirm my shipping address (the one on the invoice).
After confirming the details were correct, I received another support ticket saying the order would be cancelled.
I was then still charged for the order but have not heard about when a refund would be issued.
    No good!
