  • Wow, pretty good deal.

  • USB C HUB 7 Port with HDMI, 3 USB 3.0, 87W PD ,SD/TF Card Reader - any USB 3.0 instead of USB C?

    • I do not know what means USB 3.0 instead of USB C?
Are you asking the USB 3.0 can charge your phone?

      • +1

this unit is using USB-C (USB 3.0) connector
he probably asking for USB-A (it's also USB 3.0)

I'll be looking for USB-A connector too as my laptop does not have USB-C port…

      • Sorry for the confusion. I don't have a USB port and was after normal USB HUB multiport.

  • Noob question:

This supports PD charging up to 87W. What would happen if I plugged in a higher power charger?

Would it max out at 87W, not work at all, or break it?

    • It is a pretty ordinary situation, it will max out at charger output or device max, whichever is higher.

      • But if charger is rated higher than 87W, is there any danger in damaging this hub (which can only handle 87W)?

    • +1

The PD support as much power as your charger, and the maximum support is 100W.
It depends on the power of your charger

  • Hi OP any with 1Gbps RJ45 Ethernet Port ?

    • +1

Sorry this USB C HUB does not have RJ45 Port

    I just purchased https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0855L9MXY/ref=ppx_yo_d…

Seems to be a similar product without card slots.

  • Will this HDMI output for Surface Pro 7? They have issues with lots of hubs not working for HDMI…

  • is there any USB-C hub that can display 144hz at 1440p?

    • Yes. You must find the ones which are Thunderbolt 3 rated/certified so it can utilise the extra bandwidth if USB-C Alt Mode of your laptop…

You also need to ensure that you have USB-C Alt Mode on your laptop.

Not all USB-C ports have USB-C Alt Mode
But all Thunderbolt 3 USB-C have USB-C Alt Mode
All USB-4 USB-C (new Mac Mini) can also support USB-C Alt Mode

      • do you have any recommendations?

Yes I have USB-C Alt mode already, this is for my dell vostro 5490

        • its actually quite hard to find it as the market is flooded with basic USB-C hubs (non-TB3 rated/certified)… You have to use Thunderbolt as part of your search in Amazon…

Most that I know are the ones with 2 USB-Cs for Macbook Pros
