About the game:

Descend into the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Mad Max, where ammo is sparse and the key to survival is the possession of a car. Take control of Mad Max and stay alive amongst the savage gangs of bandits who roam the desolate desert. Use using vicious on-ground and vehicular combat to ensure your own survival.

Following the theft of his iconic Interceptor, Max must align himself with a gifted, but peculiar, mechanic named Chumbucket and others to build the ultimate war vehicle as he works to escape from the dangerous Wasteland.

This is one of the best open world games ever and it realy does the Mad Max IP justice. Really good stuff and recommened, even at the time it was a really good port as well and buttery smooth on PC. It has nothing to do with Fury Road and its own unique story.

I agree, great game, however does get a bit repetitive after a while

      • Don’t most open worlds?

        • True, but you can add things along the way, like i would have loved getting a blueheeler about half way through it, just to mix it up

    • Agreed. One of the best open world experiences. Incredible to see the rich world they created with only a desert setting.

    Great game

Really enjoyed this game. Not sure why - reminded me a little bit of Rage, but seemed to execute better. Enjoyed the combo punch multipliers & their graphical ‘bullet time’ execution when you entered a bandit outpost/camp. Funny how maggots were a meal
Rage 2 was a lot more like Mad Max
I hope they do a sequel to MM

Yes, and I think this game did car combat better than any game out there.

The race that you have to win towards the end of the game is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in a game, I nearly gave up. I’ve never failed & repeated an event so many times. Didn’t ultimately diminish my enjoyment. Sequel would be awesome on PS5 or 4K 60hz PC

this is so worth $2.79 its not even funny. The storytelling is excellent and really puts GTA and Saints Row to shame. Its a beautiful world, although minimalistic and therefore runs well even on modestly specced PCs. I played it on a Radeon 7950 and it still looked a million bucks.

The story is very much classic Mad Max, really wish the recent movie had followed this track instead of adapting high-fantasy elements and basically disappearing up its own arse. Max is back to being a gritty, hardboiled antihero, you really get a sense that this is an unforgiving world and there's just no way you can save everyone. The story is adapted from the comic books, apparently not entirely faithfully, but if that's no great bother to you then there's a lot to like here.

    • Lol.. Story in Saint's Row? What?

      • How dare you, sir/madam! It has a story. It's a batshit (is that word going to be censored?) crazy story, but still a story.

  • Really enjoyed this game when I was at high school before exam.

My final HSC results wasn't up to my usual and I blamed my friend for buying Wing Commander 2 for it. lol.

I don’t think cdkeys supports the developers. Isthereanydeal web has more legit list of 3rd party key suppliers.

I guess I would only use cdkeys for windows key, their keys work but it’s upto you.

    keep up the great work

This game is far better than it was given credit for, fantastic world aesthetic and the gameplay/combat might not be unique, but it is enjoyable.
I recommend not using fast travel as the driving across the desert adds to the atmosphere of this game, to a degree where it is half the game.

    • Great game but it was bug ridden when first released on PC. Played it for a few hours and then gave up due to constant app crashing back to Windows desktop. May give it another go.

  • phenomenal game despite its age, thanks OP.

  • 7.50 approximately on Steam at the moment if you want to throw a few dollarydoos at the developer

    • +1

You would be basically be throwing money at Warner Brothers and the developer wouldn't be getting anything. This isn't is the equivalent of supporting something like Among Us, Stardew Valley, Fall guys or Hades.

  • Was in two minds, but i'll give it a try from the reviews! thanks OP!

  • Excellent game, definitely underrated/not hyped enough. Had heaps of fun playing it, however it can be difficult and grindy. Once you get the hang of it and have a half decent car, thats when the real fun begins.

  • +1

as others have said, this game is truly excellent. There's also one specific thing to note here - its one of(?) the only video games ever made where the characters have Aussie accents! Was very impressed by that :)

  • Kick it in the guts Barry

    Recently played this game myself.
Play it ASAP if you haven't (it's great fun)

  • I absolutely loved this game. Admittedly the open world mechanics are a little dated (repetitive). But the mad max world is fully realised, art, weather effects, great maps. The vehicles are excellent. Finished the game and wanted more

  • bought, thanks OP

I always loved an open world game and judging by the comments this should be a good buy :)
