It was in the catalogue
woolworths have a virgin modem + 4gb data for $19 deal coming up this wednesday
virgin…meh
the woolies mobile sim for $2 & half price recharge is probably cheaper.
I paid around $13 (using the everyday rewards card) and got $30 credit, which includes 5gb data.
Vnhon, what store is this applicable to? Had a search on the thegoodguys.com.au for Telstra modems but it doesn't appear they sell them.
It was in the catalogue I got this morning.
OK, thanks. Apparently Adblock for FF blocks TGG's catalogues from viewing. Couldn't see the modem but maybe they haven't updated their site yet.
The elite modem (21mhz) is 2x faster and comes with 3Gb data for $79.
Yeah I have both, the elite is 2 - 2.5 times faster in real life (I've tried in adelaide, crows nest, albury, mildura)
Definately worth saving up for. Or get the Wi-Fi elite for $99 with 5GB data.
This is a good deal if u want 2GB at lower speed tho, + from me.
Thanks for the info. Looking at buying another one and was wondering if in real life the speed was better.
If I'm travelling outside the metro area (i.e. country towns), does it matter which modem I have? i.e. will there still be a significant speed difference?
I went looking for more details on the WiFi Elite… and Found this:
http://www.arc.com.au/pub.php?pid=42492&p=product
$69 for the Elite WiFi Modem and 5Gb data
Also, comparing NextG and Optus/Vodafone mobile broadband isn't exactly fair.
TBH, these deals bring the price of the Telstra offerings down to the other networks, whilst the performance still outranks them!
Wow $69 is a steal for elite wifi. I need to find someone to pricematch this
Prices are without GST & delivery charges bring it upto $83
I think ZTE devices are meant to be readily unlockable. Anybody had any personal experience with this one?
I believe the unlock codes can be provided to you for free, but as for instructions on how to unlock the devices that's a whole other story.
From what i gather there's a program you need to run to enter the code, where you get that program is a mystery.
rpt.
When does the credit expire?
telstra usually 30 days only.
Not sure about the turbo (probably 30 days)
Elite is 30 days, wifi is 60 days.
HN catalogue has these @ $49 claiming it is 30% off.. so this is a good deal.
isnt there one advertised in the woolies of coles current catalog for same price?
Yep… woolies one is $29.50 tho.
I got Officeworks to do their 5% price guarantee so I got it for $23.27 :) not a big discount, but every bit helps :) Will be handy for holidays…
