Is that for the Pro, or non-Pro, versions? Under $300 for Ironwolf 8TB Pro sounds like it's worth waiting for, if you can.
I bought them both as Pros for those prices. However the 8tb was pre covid so may not be as realistic currently.
The cheapest ironwolf PRO 12TB in Australia today (Boxing Day) is for $599, we are $100 cheaper.
@Device Deal: Ozbargain is about knowing the best possible prices, not just what the best price today happens to be. Missing the entire point of this site with that comment.
@ONEMariachi: mate, If you will compare bargain prices to prices that were there in the past, then 90% of ozbargain deals are missing the entire point of the site too.
If on the Boxing Day, an entire country with hundreds of retailers cannot achieve a better price or even a less than $100 more expensive price for a product from a popular brand such as Seagate, then this definitely means something.
@Device Deal: Still fundamentally missing the point mate. The whole basis of this website is to understand historic prices, and to know what the baseline is. It is compeltely irrelevent what the other options currently are on this exact day, as people are looking to understand the best movement of their dollar. That is the entire philosphy of this site. Me pointing out that there has been a better price recently is not a dig at your company, it is simply a piece of information people that frequent this site are looking for. Don't be so defensive, grow up, and learn the point of this site.
@ONEMariachi: 1- The historical prices are meaningless today if you can't get the item for these prices from anywhere.
2- If someone needs this item today, by seeing this offer on ozbargain, they will save at least $100, which has already happened, thanks to our price and ozbargain several customers were happy today.
3- Describing a bargain as "meh pricing" just because it was cheaper sometime ago doesn't make any sense in the world of commerce. We do not manufacture these items in our office, we are not selling a service but the pricing relies on tens of factors and in most of the cases they do not return back to how they were cheaper.
4- last but not least, I checked the prices of the 12 TB Ironwolf PRO on the web archive with all major retailers and online stores and non of them were in the 400s or even close. Where did you get it from?
Furthermore, In October (as you said), here on Ozbargain (since the basis of this website is to understand historical prices), the Ironwolf prices on several deals that got only upvotes, clearly indicate that $474 was not the price for the 12TB PRO:

Don't be so defensive, grow up, and learn the point of this site.
@Device Deal: I agree with @ONEMariachi - OzBargain allows customers to be more discerning about the price we pay by checking price history and discussing trends, especially for purchases that aren't urgent or essential.
I also agree that your prices are very good compared to what else is on offer today, and was quite tempted to get the 8TB HDD, but this childish tit-for-tat has put me off your business as it's not a great reflection on your customer support, should I need it.
It's a shame you didn't take advantage of this conversation in a more positive way, or perhaps even sweeten things a little more for OzBargainers with a free delivery code, etc.
@Finner: The whole conversation is based on a false claim which is "In October the Ironwolf PRO 12 TB was for $474" while in fact this price was for the non PRO version and both web archives and ozbargain deals in october show that clearly.
It's about providing the best prices to customers and not squeezing out retailers.
This is meh pricing. 12tb was $474 in october, and the 8tb is regularly under $300.
