IMO, it is good buy, if I didn't buy the Bauhn 46 3D Tv, I will buy this.

"only 400" lol. Im not buying another LCD/LED TV until they per-fect proper LED Backlighting. sick of all the uniformity issues. eg white patches..bought a 46D8000 last year and took it back within a week coz of this…
but they are supposed to be releasing first gen OLED TV's Q4 2012. bring on OLED!

im talking about a "TV" as in 40"/55" not a shitty little monitor size. and yess they will be 10k+ for first getn, just like plasma's but they will come down in time…

You won't have to wait long. Read in the news today that Myer and DJ have been holding off on discounting their products and will have a massive sale on Boxing Day, so as not to repeat their mistake made last year where they were literally discounting every day and the Boxing Day sale was not significant enough to entice shoppers to buy more.
So they prices aren't discount and cheapest now?

I own one of these tv's and am not particularly impressed. It's got issues that are luck of the draw like flaslighting and clouding which make dark scenes less than impressive (am planning to play the warranty card, and but getting these - subjective - issues resolved is more difficult than it should be). There are also systemic issues which are well documented, and but that I didn't pay enough attention to when purchasing. The most significant is that 3D socks. The image has so much cross talk that it is more pleasurable to just not. The Internet tv part is OK, so but so slow.
Important to me but perhaps not others is the fact that all the fancy gizmos like presence sensor and the kid too close features don't work in pc mode. I think have a htpc connected to this so want all these things (mostly because they are there not because they are helpful). Why couldn't sony give the option to turn these features on or off, not all pc's do the same job.
I know about 3D glasses, but 3D socks? Cool. :)
