  • Didn't even know CF slots were still a thing

The camera is almost 5 yo . A dinosaur in tech 😅

      • Though stil the camera of choice for many pro action photographers. Bit of a niche I guess.

        • Most PJ use Z7 now I heard.

          • @bnh: It’s mirrorless though. SLR is still king for some photography types.

You can upgrade the slots to XQD for around $450. Also there's the firmware 1.4 update that when applied to the XQD edition will make the slots compatible with CF Express.

Having said that, I have the CF edition, and whilst shooting in RAW 12 bit lossless, I've not gotten close to hitting the buffer limit. I'd need to hold the shutter button down continuously for around 8 - 9 seconds for that to happen I believe.

If you use XQD, your buffer limit is around 200 RAW 12 bit lossless images. With CF expect half that.

However, with CF you can shoot to the 200 image buffer limit so long as you shoot JPEG.

Bought this for $4999 with the 20% off deal at Digidirect several months ago. Great camera and image quality at high iso equals the new D6 (they upgraded other components but the sensor is pretty much identical.)
