  • $18.30 shipping to Sydney is a bit steep

    • I think they have set shipping fees

I haven't heard of the teac brand for well.over 15yrs!

  • Does this support Dolby Atmos?

  • +2

Just buy the EKO one from Big-W. Cheaper and does more.

    • +1

apparently the sound of the EKO is barely an improvement on tv speakers. To quote, "It is very comparable to tv speakers but just runs louder and it lacks bass even on the highest setting."
What does this one sound like?

I own the EKO one, it's bloody fantastic just put it in movie mode. Don't know what you're on about.

Good feedback! Does the EKO bar have CEC which allows you to turn it on and off with the same tv remote?

          • @Every1H8sChris: Not the TV but the TV will turn off the soundbar I think.

            • @Mickice: I am actually having trouble with the IR. For some reason, when I press the volume up button, it's turning off the Eko system.

              • @Utsav23: Do you have an Xbox or something connected? They have weird IR blasters that mess with electronics.

        • Hi. I recently bought a Hitachi 65'' inch android TV. TV sound is not bad. I am planning to buy Eko 2.0 CH? How about the sound quality? This one is 40 W right

          • +1

@Utsav23: It has 4 speakers, it says 40W but also on the box 200W or something like that. Big W has easy returns, I'd buy the EKO 2.1 system if you have the space to play boomy sounds that won't annoy the neighbours. Otherwise for simply audio clarity way better than TV's get the EKO 2.0ch soundbar. It also works beautifully as a Bluetooth sound system in the bedroom.

            • @Mickice: Sure. Considering the cost, I will go ahead with the EKO 2.0ch soundbar then. :)

@Utsav23: Saw it on sale the other day for $55 good gifting price at that. Hope you get one :)

                • @Mickice: Hi Mick. Please advise where did you see? :) Share the link if you know.

                  • @Utsav23: On the website, but it's back up to $79, still good value.

                    • @Mickice: Yeah. I have checked in many places. Couldn't find any cheaper price close to $55. Should I wait for the catalogue sale? :)

                      • +1

                        @Utsav23: Just do it.

                        • @Mickice: Hi Mick. I just bought Eko 2.0 CH. It's connected to my android TV (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hitachi-65qledsm20-65-4k-…) through HDMI (Movie mode). Tbh, I like the sound coming from my TV directly. Am I missing any important settings? Any suggestions

                          • @Utsav23: If you use music mode, treble and bass can go up or down. If you use movie mode it has a light treble increase over medium and a nice boost to the bass. I use mine in movie mode for everything but music mode can vary more.

                            • @Mickice: Yeah. I ordered a new 4K ultra high-speed HDMI cable (YELLOW-PRICE Ultra HD v2.1 HDMI Cable (3M) 4K/8K 48Gbps) from eBay. Let's see whether the new HDMI cable is improving the quality of the sound from Eko 2.0 CH. What do you think?

                              • @Utsav23: Update: I confirm the sound quality has been improved. Especially, while watching 4K videos on Amazon and Netflix. EKO 2.0 CH is performing so well. Music mode rocks :)

  • If you remember TEAC, which used to be a sound specialist, forget that TEAC is a company that makes products of completely different quality.
