jeez, they used to have stores in the on george street near world square and one near central station but it looks like they only have newtown left. rip.
Wow they closed both stores, covid must have hit them bad
or there ain't enough vegans around
But there are plenty of vegetarians though
They were garbage anyway lol.
I ate there once (and only once).
They market themselves like a classic US Burger joint (like 'In and Out'). I thought it was going to be similar.
Went in, and saw stuff like 'veg ckickn' and 'veg beef' (asked the person on the register what it was about, and they said vegetarian, and I just thought I would try it anyway)
Fake meat tastes strange. Also, their 'award winning' chips were pretty underwhelming. Not crunchy. I could get better crunch in my oven, and they were using a fryer! And I got BBQ sauce, and it tasted watered down, needed more flavour.
Of course it tastes strange because the human mind associates what you know as a meat burger with that taste. Itβs like having a light beer vs a full strength one, yet they look the same.
You prefer eating literal rectum from corpses?
Your opinion after the first line might be legit (and if you can tell where they serve some nicer, crunchy fries, I'll appreciate that).
Calling it gargabe is silly if you regularly eat fast feed.
Didn't taste at all like Chicken but it was totally delicious! π Thanks OP! π
Confused - title says "NOT popeye chicken" then the text says "popeyes chicken" ? Am I missing something?
While it's too late now, I think it's called NOT Popeye's Chicken because it's vegan. Just a play on words. They do the same with the vegan sausage roll at 7/11, it's called the No Sausage Roll, because there is no sausage and is planet based!
There was a huge debacle in the US over chicken sandwiches (they call them that, not chicken burgers) between Popeyes and Chick-fil-A
