The key caps on these break real easily. As in the bit that connects to the switch. Wiping/cleaning the key caps with a micro fibre cloth is enough to break a key. Warranty is a pain as you have to deal with Corsair in USA. Have 2 boards and both have had the key caps break. Have ordered a set of PBT key caps to replace with. If you do make sure the set is for Corsair as they are bit different from the standard. Otherwise a good keyboard

I've had the same issue - but very happy that replacement keys are easily available for a few dollars each on aliexpress/ebay etc. Not sure why someone negged you it is actually an issue with this board, but one easily overcome.

    • My nav cluster has been replaced with spare keycap due to weak stems. It's going to be a little awkward selling my keyboard.

    • This info is handy.

Got a Logitech G810 and want to move on from it, not happy with the quality.
Current G810 has 4 tiny stems and just through ordinary use some are breaking and the stems get stuck in the hole in the switch.
Even if i could get replacement keys getting the stems out of the switch is going to be the biggest issue.

I'd like something backlit, RGB optional, but adjustable brightness at least would be nice.

Have heard of cherry switches being the biz for years, but never owned a keyboard that held them, except maybe some really ancient PCs (original IBM PC/XT and AT??)

Given the issues is it still worth buying that this price and dealing with the keys as they break, or is there a better keyboard?

I'm after as compact a keyboard as possible (so not fancy wrist wrests that are non removable, no fancy bezels).
That said i do need a number keypad still.
      Volume would be nice.
Backlit for a non touch typer to see in the dark, but not blinding (adjustable would be fine).
Prefer host powered, would rather not have to supply separate power to it.

::edit:: Is PBT a brand, or type of keycap?

Polybutylene Terephthalate, it's a type of material used for key caps. More robust than the typical plastic you get.

Check out all of keychrons offerings. They make decent quality keyboards of varying sizes to suit your needs.

        • Looking now and i like what i see.
Looks like i can escape the 'Gaming' brands and come out with a better keyboard.
          Thanks for the tip.

    • I had key chatter after a few years of use on my K70 mk.II silent and Corsair replaced it with a brand new keyboard. Love the keyboard though, best I've ever used.

The volume roller and dedicated media keys are the main draw of Corsair to me. Hard to go back to any other keyboard without these after getting accustomed.

  • Good price( i paid 250 at JB for this 6 months ago).. Nice keyboard. been using it for 6+ months and love it

  • I really want to replace my Kogan Mechanical, but not sure I want to throw $180 at something that seems to be so fragile

    • I think its a bit overblown. Key caps are not fragile, just need to use the right tool when removing them for cleaning.

  • Good find! Normally $230+delivery with IT sellers. Bought and thanks!

  • I'm tossing between different model for my first mechanical keyboard, is the Logitech G915 full size much better than this? Considering just cable connected and wifi/bluetooth off.
