Damn it! I recharged mine on the 9th of this month. Would have been great had I got the 40GB bonus data.

    • Recharged mine on the 1st

  • What is that xx Jan date?

  • +2

Son's plan expires late January. No SMS received. Is there a link to a source or something to see if this applies to all users, or is targeted?

    • Mine expires Jan 7 and I haven't received any text or see this offer anywhere in the app. :(

      • Don't worry, in my case, about 2 weeks before your next recharge.

    • +3

If I get this offer I will stay with Boost. If not I'm moving him over to this Optus $150/120GB offer https://offer.optus.com.au/shop/prepaid/sim-card/180-sim

      • does this include access to optus' 5G network (their critical information summary doesn't specify)? From last I heard Boost will remain on 4G for the foreseeable future.

      • boost or optus ? coverage which is better ?

        • +2

Having tried kogan mobile via Vodafone, catchmobile via Optus and Boost via Telstra. Boost works the best in terms of network signal especially in Melbourne cbd.

        • +1

          Boost (Telstra) without doubt

      • +1

What does Optus give you over Catch for $120 or cheaper?
        https://www.catch.com.au/product/catch-connect-365-day-mobil…

        • +2

Optus Sports for $5 a month.

        • Catch are much easier to deal with than Optus.

  • Targeted? I'm on the 80GB/12mths plan. No sms for me.

    • Might be for anyone that’s about to recharge.

      • +5

If they value customer loyalty, why not give to everyone on the same plan?

        • +2

You should raise that up with your insurance companies, banks, other Telcos and see if they feel the same way.

    • Possibly, recharged on 19th Dec for $150, no SMS.

      • And you got the bonus 40GB? Mine (old $150 80GB plan) expires in 4 days, I didn’t get any SMS.

    • in my case, about 2 weeks before your next recharge

  • My wife’s sim is expiring in mid January. Hope we too receive this offer..

    • +1

in my case, about 2 weeks before your next recharge

  • Mine expires today and no SMS! Just a reminder to recharge..

    • Mine expires Boxing Day. Also no SMS - several recently to buy a refurbished phone.

    • in OP's case, about 2 weeks before your next recharge

    Really wish they’d get eSim

    • Boost founder doesn't seem hopeful. Article in the media said the big telcos have it sewn up

  • No SMS. Mine is not expiring in Jan though. This maybe targeted for those who have their plans expiring by Jan'2021.

  • +1

    I got offered 60gb but I’m in the $300 a year plan

    • I got that text a few days ago as well, also $300 (no thanks :P)

  • Recharged my sons 80GB 365 plan this morning.. never got the SMS and the plan looks like it's only got 80GB on it atm

so yeah very targeted I'd say :-(

  • NETWORK used in title, thanks

  • I also received the bonus 60g SMS with the $300 recharge, due to recharge January 1st. But I was planning on recharging $150 as I wanted to downgrade and don't need the excess data…

  • Was the account that received this under heavy data use? Have a few accounts (relatively light use) that are expiring soon and none have received this yet.

    • I only used less than 20GB for the whole year LOL. I believe the bonus applies to most of the 365 day recharge plans that are due in January 2021 and will receive the sms 2 weeks prior the expiry date.

  • my plan will expire on 27 March, but I only have 3GB data left. If I recharge now, can I use that bonus data till new plan starts?

    • If you upgrade now I think u lose ur 3gb but I could be wrong

  • I did online messaging with Boost about this and they weren't able to tell me who it applied for, they said they'd email me the info, 15 hours later nothing.

  • So those of us on the old $150 80gb plan, we just recharge normally and still get the old plan?

Mine expires in 4 days and received no such message :(

    • Yes, that's right.
You can contact them and see if you're qualified.

  • One week out and I still haven't received such a text or offer. So I don't know how one can "obtain" this deal without a direct offer. I'll shop around for other network deals.

  • I received the bonus 40gig text, while my son hasn’t

He uses a lot more data than I on his YouTube’s and ticktocs, crazy kids

  • Can i buy a recharge voucher from retailers or do i have to recharge online?

      • Btw, I’m not associated but somehow I am? So far haven’t found out how to disassociate

        • you need to untick I am associated with Boost Mobile when posting a comment.

    No text received.
Via Boost app Help/ Message Us, I inquired about the offer available as my friend received SMS message of "Get 40GB bonus when you recharge $150 before xx January! Use in Aus in 12 months, bonus applied automatically."

I asked, if i recharged $150 with them today, can they please apply 40GB bonus.
They gladly applied the 40GB bonus.

After the recharge, I realized the remaining data does not roll over for the 6mths or 365day plans.
Via another Boost App Help/ Message Us, I queried if my remaining 33ishGB can be rolled over/ manually applied by them. The BOT auto message claims that data is rolled over for $30 or more recharge. They explained how the data is not to be rolled over but applied another 20GB on top as good gesture.

    80GB + 40GB Bonus +20GB Bonus all for 12months @$150

They further explained this is a one time only gesture.

    • Nice, I just tried it and added this information to forums. Will wait for tomorrow when someone contact me via the chat.

Then you may also be familiar with the old 4G sim swap when Boost only had 3G.
I tried in store Telstra for a sim swap.
The lady was very nice and tried to process it on her system via 2 different methods.
The system did not allow for the Telstra sim to be activated.
        5minutes in store.
        Failed to get 5G.

My number and details showed up on their system.
It even had a line showing "Boost Anytime Prepaid"

        • Interesting, mine was already a 4g sim when I bought it. If they do manage to upgrade all 4g sim to 5g sim as well as 5g services, that'll be awesome.

          • +1

@fchis: This was back in the days when 4G was being introduced.
Im sure eventually Boost will provide 5G by default

    • thanks no luck, tried it multiple times for the 40GB bonus… Cant get past the bot when it says "If you receive an SMS from us about bonus data, give it 72 hours to be added to your account. We'll send an SMS to let you know when it's done.
      SIMO - Now
Would you like to check your balance?"

      • +1

No worries, you may call their customer service number and you should be able to get the 40GB bonus.

      • +2

you just need to get past the BOT.
"Cancellation" normally gets you to a live chat person.

        • I did not receive the targeted sms on the 40GB bonus. But still wanted to try my luck by calling Boost customer service 125 8881 today. Unfortunately, I failed to convince them to give me the 40GB bonus even with saying that I am going to cancel/refund.

It s*cks to be excluded for such bonus. Will be telling all my friends to stay off Boost.

    Due in about two weeks,
    Received SMS 1:21pm,
    Paid $150 via Paypal @ 11:46pm,
Received SMS for 40gb bonus data 11:57pm

  • +3

chatted and got agreement, recharged on $150 on the spot, 80GB + 40GB bonus + 55GB rollover + refreshed expiry date as if I recharged a day after current expiry FTW
not sure what I'm going to do with all this data thoug, btw I didn't get any SMS

    • I will try that next time thanks, maybe I should have read this thread before recharging two weeks prior to my expiry (Not sure that it is accidental on Boost side that they take away remaining weeks of usage like that. Why send the recharge notice two weeks before expiry, when you cannot keep that old expiry date and just add on the new 365 days), where they took that remaining two weeks use off me with a new expiry from the recharge date. Fine print as always

  • +1

Got the SMS as well, with a link to the recharge page - no code or voucher.

  • Is still best value for 1 year. Noones doing better than $150 120gigs ??

  • Due in 3 days (currently on 365 days prepaid boost anytime plus), and the only sms received is the reminder….ah well, been working remotely anyway, thus using home internet most of the time anyway….

  • Please note the forfeit of all your old remaining days and any unused data when recharging.
I got an SMS from Boost with a link to recharge two weeks prior to the old expiry date of 14th February. When I recharged, I did not get the bonus data right away, they do not roll over any unused data, and my new expiry set to one year from recharge date. I contacted their customer service (In the Philippines) and after spending around 15 minutes of chat they moved the expiry onward to 14th Feb as a one off courtesy only (I already paid for this mate, how is that a courtesy?). No roll over data. I would have been happy if the recharge just added the new 365 days to existing expiry, but saying that they will not do that again is not what I expected. Probably just as well to port out from Boost for a month at expiry and then come back to Boost when they do a deal again.
