  • Good price

  • I paid $80~ for the 400gb card. Great deal.

  • +1

Would be good on your nintendo switch. Plenty space.

  • Quick card and plenty of storage space. Great deal

  • Ahhh so tempting. current phone s8+ only does 256gb max i believe… always seems to be the 128gb on sale, or a big jump here to 512gb… never the 256 though?

Edit: Just saw the last link on a 256gb! hmm tempted to upgrade/bump up the external sd card.I presume i could just whip out the SD card in my existing samsung and do a copy paste from one card to a new card?

As the android no longer installs apps or any other linked system usage to an external sd? So it should only be copy paste based data files on a sd card and no need to ghost/clone it to a new one?

  • OP i do not think there is free delivery with Prime? I logged in with my parents account and still $7 shipping for the 256gb card. I presume the 512gb is the same, as both international imports.

Am i missing something? Or perhaps no free shipping?

    • Hi mate. I'm a prime member and just tried it. It doesn't charge me shipping. Are you sure you are logged in and your prime membership is still active?

      • Yeap i logged into the parents. Can you try it on the 256gb model i the link above?

        • Yes I see now. The 256gb is under $49 so you will be charged for shipping. It's only $49 and over for free shipping. The 512gb is free shipping as it is over $49.

          • @Jase2801: ahh drats! that explains it… all other international US items get Prime normally?

is there an easy way to filter/find other items that are intl based, i presume if i bump up something for $7 to the $49 it'll be the same price as paying the shipping but at least i get something else? perhaps an usb drive for $7? haha.

I presume the 512gb is the same, as both international imports.

Not the same, the 512gb is over $49 so you get free shipping. The 256gb version is not over the threshold

  • Just curious - how does this compare these days to the alternatives sold (U3 class 10s) of the sandisk and all on recent deals? Is this a better or comparable card? Price seems slightly more (with shipping) so wondering to wait…

    • It's a good price on the SanDisk Extreme 256GB for $53.67. It has a faster reading speed compared to the EVO Select. Well worth the price tag imho.

Well to be honest this samsung evo is already $50 with the shipping (given no free shipping). So if the SanDisk Extreme is rated higher than it, for $3 more I would rather get it.

I've just used the samsung evo's since the red ones from shopping square days (back when 32gb was expensive), so i've stuck with it. particularly as these green evo selects I've been told are just amazon versions and the same quality as the red ones.

Is the SanDisk Extreme's as durable and rated for the same extreme temperatures as the Samsung? So identical apart from faster reading speed?

How about writing speed? Same same?

Edit: appears a Samsung S8+ only suppors UHS-1 so presumably even if this goes beyond UHS-1 read speeds it's hamstrung… so my question is more whether the extra $3 pays for better quality and consistent read/write speeds within the boundaries of UHS-1?

The samsungs go on about how they are magnetic, x-ray and water proof whereas the sandisk extreme doesn't mention anything about magnetic and the like (at least on the amazon ad).

    • I bought the Extreme 256G two weeks ago.
U3 class is noticeably faster than U1 in write speed, 80 MB/s vs 40-50MB/s
read speed for both class are similar 80-90 MB/s
