using zip pay to buy gift card every Saturday, you can save a lot, I bought a $300 gift card every week unstill zip finish this even, card up to 4 years expire
I'm going to wait till boxing day, not like i would get chance to use it before than.
Was the deal the other day better? The combo pack for $799?
Also, Officeworks don't have this camera in stock?
Yeah, I think the Fly More pack is the one to get, better value
bought the mini 1 for my dad and very much regret not getting the fly more combo. The additional batteries are expensive.
Friggen hell. I’ve got one wrapped up, sitting under the tree … just waiting for the 25th.
4 more days of emotional (wallet) torture on ozbargain.
Is this a significant improvement over the original Mavic Mini?
4K vs 2.7K video (but with the same size sensor), also a much improved radio link (Ocusync - same as what's used on the larger drones). It's also about 20% faster / better at resisting wind while keeping the same flight time (or technically a 1 minute longer flight time).
Thanks. For ~$250 new do you think it's a worthy investment? Or spend the biccies on the 2? Plan is to document some of my 2021 adventures but needs to be able to fit in my hydration pack.
I think it's going to be a subjective question - personally I own an original Mavic Pro and while I was intrigued by the Mavic Mini, I'm actually keep on buying a Mini 2, because it can 1:1 replace my Mavic Pro in capability (even exceeding the original Mavic Pro in things like endurance) while being much smaller, allowing me to fly in areas that the Mavic Pro is prohibited from flying (because drones 250g+ can't fly within 5.5km of any airports - PSA: still don't fly too close to airports in case you lose control of your drone).
One thing that you may want to consider however is the size of the controller - unlike the original Mini controller which folded open to place a phone at the bottom, the new one is just a big brick that your put your phone into the top of - it gives you more battery and it'll arguably be a bit easier to see the phone screen, but the controller is now almost twice as big and I don't believe you can link the drone to any of the older folding controllers either (though I could be wrong).
@JS1: You're basically implying the Mini can be flown even within 5.5km of an airport.
@YellowKnight: I'm directly saying that - a lot of key areas in my town (ie parks where people will have birthday events, etc) for example are within around 3-5km of the airport (but not under the approach / take-off paths either).
CASA explicitly permits RPAS under 250g to fly within the 5.5km radius that larger drones are prohibited from, though of course they still mandate that you land if you sense air traffic coming close (eg: hear or see a jet or helicopter flying nearby), don't fly into approach paths of airports, and obviously don't fly over airports themselves.
@JS1: So would you say this is a good price?
@YellowKnight: As far as drones go this is one of the best bang-for-buck packages out there (though I'd get the Fly More combo to save even more money), but whether or not spending $600+ on a drone that you may or may not fly much is a very subjective matter.
@JS1: Yeah I'm worry not able to control drone properly and just collecting dust after a month
@JS1: Do you have a link to the CASA regulation that RPAS under 250g can fly within 5.5km of any aerodrome? I tried looking for it but I think only if it’s under 100g.
Edit: Think I found it - https://www.casa.gov.au/drones/rules/drone-safety-rules
“You must not fly your drone closer than 5.5 km to a controlled aerodrome or airfield (usually those with a control tower), if your drone weighs more than 250 g.”
@JS1: Thank you again!
props noise down, better remote (same for mavic air), Battery changed from Li-ion to Li-Po. Mini is now like small decent mavic drone.
The headline is the 4k - but the big noticeable changes are actually the bitritate - 100 vs 40 Mbps, and using occusync rather than wifi, which will give better and more reliable range. I'd say it's worth it, but depends on your desires with it.
I think the occusync floats my boat rather than the imaging.
So office work best the price only?, how about the delivery from camera direct?
And how to get that zip visa $30 back?
Thanks
When you doing price beat OW usually add post fee on the item price if the item cannot be pick up in your area , if still cheaper you can get it , if over you won’t buy it ,right ? But this time I think they didn’t add for me , maybe lucky, because the camersdriect is not in NSW
The Combo still seems better value for money. Heck, there isn't even a prop guard with this version.
Nor with the combo

If you are at officeworks, ask to split the payment over two cards. Ask for $300 on the first, tap and pay. Then ask to pay the balance using a second card (tap and pay again, same card).
You will get $30 back immediately, then $30 for the 2nd transaction. If you are really cheap, ask to put it on 3 cards and get the last $2 towards your next $30 claim.
2 weeks ago , every Sat I bought $300 Coles group gift card , ,until now I have 3 gifts already……
Damn thats a pretty nice price. Question is will it drop further during boxing day sales.
