Intel 10600K, ASUS Prime Z490-A & Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO CMW32GX4M2C3200C16 32G $833 (Was $1017) + Delivery/Pickup @ Scorptec

150

Normally retails for $1017, so roughly a 18% discount.

The Avengers bundle is just a regular 10600K (but called a 10600KA because of the bundle). You probably won't be able to claim the free Avengers game anymore (I think that offer expired in November), but that game sounds crap anyway.

This is part of Boxing Day Sales for 2020

Hilariously the Avengers Edition CPU with Marvel crap all over the box has a tiny print disclaimer of 'Game not included'. Thanks Intel, very cool.

Quick statitice shows this bunch costs $933 separately so not bad

    • There was a way to claim the game online (https://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/gaming/learnmore-…) but I think that has expired now. It might still work, but the game doesn't sound very good anyway…

On staticICE I think you can get to ~$975 but not much lower. Note that the 10600KF is different to the 10600K/10600KA because the 10600KF has no onboard graphics.

You can still claim it, you have to run the Hardware scanning tool, you can only claim it while actually using the eligible cpu in your system.

    • I claimed that game with the 10700k I purchased from scorptec a few weeks back.

  • How much for same performance AMD platform build?

    • E.g. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/cyberpunk-2077-cpu-scaling…

At 1080p / RT Ultra, the 10600K performs similarly to a Ryzen 9 3900XT, which retails for $750+ without RAM or mobo

The 10600K apparently overclocks well too, but I haven't tried

      $50 bucks more than a 3600 combo, $150-$200 less than a 5600x combo

      • ozbargaino prices..

        3600 ~$260
        Decent b550 board ~$200
        32gb 3200MHz cl16 $160
        =
total ~$620 (or $829 if you can get 5600x at rrp)

        i think generally.. 5600x > 10600k > 3600

but look up some proper reviews and numbers to see what works/sufficient for you. i might be entirely wrong but i think amd currently has better upgrade path and vast majority of people would be happy with b450 chipset for <$150 even. for games, on a budget, money always better in gpu

shortage, if you want 3600 anytime soon, it is $300+, RGB ram is expensive, lowest i've seen Corsair RGB Ram is $200, regularly $220+, B550 are generally $250

I was about to hit the button on a 10400f build and saw this pop up - had to do it. Should tide me over until the DDR5 era I think!

    • +1

I was going to wait until ddr5 but I don't think we'll get crazy performance boosts straightaway. Let alone being affordable.

      • +1

Yeah when DD4 came out if was a good while before RAM that was actually faster for a sane price turned up

        • Back then, 32gb 3200c16 was $600 for the vengeance lpx lol

I bought 10600k with z490 tomahawk and 32gb hyperx for $320, $290, $140 on black fri. It also had two games codes. With an additional $25 cashback to come.

Given scroptec super slow dispatch of late, I don't think this is a deal.

    • Cool, sounds like a pretty similar discount considering the different mobo and different RAM

Scorptec has already shipped mine so the dispatch seems pretty good at the moment

  • Did this go up in price ($877) since posting or am I missing something?

    • Looks like the price increased by $44. I will mark this as Expired.
