Yeah it’s a pretty good monitor, I have the 27 inch model and i can recommend it.
thnx
A friend said 1080 at these sizes is a bit crappy for word docs
How far would your friend be sitting from a screen like that?
Desk. Doing uni
It's a bit ridiculous the amount of people complaining about this nowadays. 1080p on a 24" monitor was the creme of the crop for almost a decade and now suddenly it's not even good enough for word documents.
On a 27"+ sure, 1080 starts to get a bit pixelated. On a 24" and under, perfectly fine for any application.
How many yards is that?
1080p at 24 inches is too crappy?
I think its deemed "crappy" for this audience but yeah… in the workplace, FHD at 24" is the standard… AND you'll find heaps of older folks use 125% scaling too.
$145 is a fair price to pay for an ips 60hz samsung but yeah… its a tad too down market for people here.
AND you'll find heaps of older folks use 125% scaling too.
Currently using 125% scaling on 24” @ 1920x1200, maybe this is how come pixels in Windows is more obvious.
I've got one of these, using it right now. Great, no frills 1080p monitor. No complaints from me, I sit about 0.5m away. The design is certainly nice.
DC14V - Does this have an external power supply? Does it not use a kettle cable?
i went to purchase this as i need 2 monitors for WFH but hit the brakes at this comment [thankyou, i didnt even notice] all my other monitors are kettle cord, does the power type/supply make that much of a difference? sorry if its a stupid question lol
It appears to have an external power brick, like a laptop power supply, but I cannot find any details or pictures
We use old versions of these screen at work (maybe 5-6) and they all have the external brick. Not a biggie at all, you just need to have some decent cable kung fu going on.
The plus side on this is that the power supplies in 2 have died and we just replace these instead of the monitor.
I might pick up a couple for work, thanks OP!
@bassmaniac69: External power supply that fails? Not a great sales pitch, but thanks for the info
External power supply that fails? Not a great sales pitch,
Yes I agree. External is a worry.
Was looking at this $129 Samsung curved VA 24” and it’s the same (external power).Samsung probably thinks it will reduce the cost to make monitor and cost of replacements (just send out new power brick).
Using an old AOC monitor which uses IEC cable to internal power supply, its 10+ years old now but still continue to work.
This or this - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/591478 for grandparents?
Someone said on one of the other threads that 75Hz monitors all have an issue with lines going through them, but that didn't sound right to me. I have no personal experience I'm afraid.
this
Be careful with this. Purchased this deal on the 16th with estimated delivery the 18th. It's now the 21st and the estimated delivery is still showing as "18/12/2020".
You may or may not actually get what you ordered.
I also noticed something strange. Seller shows as Shipped & Sold by Amazon AU.
But in the "Customer questions & answers" section one of the reply is:
"Thanks for your message. … see more
By KOGAN Seller on 17 June 2020"So real seller is maybe KOGAN. So it may be shipped by KOGAN as well.
Does it have audio out? Finding mixed statements…..
No, I have this monitor and can confirm it has no audio out, it only has power in, hdmi in and vga in.
Ta @jayboi much appreciated for confirmation :)
is it good?
