Are these anywhere near as good as a kitchen aid or a kenwood?
$179 vs Kenwood/Kitchenaid in the realms of $550-700. I doubt it'll be as good. No actual experience though.
Fair enough, hopefully someone who does responds. I get it's cheap compared to those but I have seen kogan ones for under 100 so it still could be bad value
Depends what you are using them for.
If it's only for domestic use and occasionally cake etc, they are just as good. We've had us for about 2 years now and no problem with it.
We've had a few crappy bake but I think it's down to the cake ingredients itself than anything else.

Some excellent reviews on this mixer that compare it closely to the KitchenAids. This is a really good deal. Combine with gift cards and it's a fantastic appliance for the money. Thanks!
Did anyone manage to find out what the min. to use it is? > 60/120ml
