DJI Mavic Mini Drone Fly More Combo $668 @ The Good Guys, Harvey Norman & Amazon AU

150

No doubt people rather the more expensive Mavic Mini 2, however this is still good deal for the 1.

Unless your an avid droner I reckon the Mini 1 is still a good deal, especially if you combine with Zip pay offer.

Back in the day I would also recommend TRS around this time of year but alas COVID infects bargains too…

  • I think it's in a bit of an uncomfortable middle ground at this price. What does OzBargains have to say about this deal?

I'd pay 200 bucks more for the Mini 2 myself. Better quality camera, digital zoom, RAW pics, better communications (dedicated radio rather than over WIFI), greater range. No brainer..

      • Keep in mind that the image censor size is the same. So technically zoom is the same as cropping the photo in photoshop.

Depends whether "zoom" function has extra algorithms to clean up noise directly from the sensor. Some digital zooms offers filtering at the point of capture that can make it a bit better than pixel cropping in photoshop.

    • Pay 200 more for new one or wait for this to reduce more

    • I would go the mini 2, at the price increase, largely for Occusync 2.0. I think you're just going to have a better time with that.

Mini 1 was a bit rushed TBH.. Coming from a Spark, it was more downgrade other than the weight of it. Mini 2 is much better product, but still missing that damn native HDR pictures/video. Sigh..

DJI mini 1 -> mavic look toy drone
DJI mini 2 -> mavic look mini mavic as 4K, Zoom, RAW and specially Ocusync 2.0 which makes mini 2 runs like Mavic Pro.

I would spend 200 more for REAL more for mini 2 and I did. mini 2 is real good.
If you fly only indoor or very short range or do not need 4k video, mini 1 could be a good option.

    • Why would you fly indoor? I flew my mini 1 over 2km but was too scared to go further.

For someone with a $500 budget, the mini 1 is the best drone in the market. Provided that you don’t get the combo one.

      • I wouldn't go that further if I were you with mini 1. I bought mini2 combo and it is real good.

        • Obviously mini2 is superior, I’ve had my mini1 for over a year now but only flew it a few dozen times. Hopefully by the time I need to upgrade my mini1, there will be a better mini under $500 again.

          • @TomGum: I bought mini2 combo 850 in local camera store and spent 182 more on mini 2 combo is way better choice than spending 668 on mini 1 combo and I think you would agree that. mini 1 got li-ion battery and 2 got li-po battery which can produce more power to resist wind and propellers are way more silent than mini 1.

Geez I'm surprise you were game to fly it over 2km. At 700m I could barely see it.

    EASE VIC RULES!

    • Are the rules for drones in Vic harsher?

  • Haven't had a drone since I sold my Phantom 3, what are these smaller guys like in winds? I loved I could fly the Phantom 3 on cliff faces and hold up fairly well agaisnt the wind, but I'd be hesitant to put one of these there, or are their computers and micro adjustments decent?

  • HN back up to $699 :(
