[Presale] Kogan V11 Absolute Extra Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner $349.99 + Shipping ($0 with Kogan First) @ Kogan

120

Ships 8 Match 2021.

I'm not one to praise Kogan products as I tend to find most are cheap rebadged throwaways but sometimes you come across a product that punches above it's price and quality expectation.

The Kogan V11 is just that type of product. Admittedly I was able to pick this up at the bargain price of $249 as it was on sale with free shipping via Kogan First trial membership. You can get the standalone model without extra battery and filters for $279.99 if you have a Kogan First membership.

https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-v11-absolute-extra-cordle…

(You can create a new account if you've used one before, Just make sure to use a different credit card/debit card and make a reminder to cancel the trial membership before the 14 days finish or you'll get stung the full year fee)

The pre-order version which comes with an extra spare battery and 3 HEPA filters is the obvious choice for value for money as the standalone costs of the items are;

https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-296v-battery-v11-pro-cord… - $69.99
https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-c11-and-v11-pro-cordless-… - $19.00

The reason I got this was mainly due to price. I have a friend that has the $1000+ Dyson V11 that I have played around with and it got me interested in portable vacuum cleaners. Being the frugal person I am, I wasn't able to justify $1K on a tool that doesn't provide me joy and entertainment so I did some research.

Turns out this Kogan rip off is just a re-badged DIBEA F20 MAX which in turn is probably another re-badged vacuum cleaner except the DIBEA seems to be quite popular overseas. The unit and fittings are 100% identical beside branding and color scheme as I've compared it with the Kogan I have.

In terms of suction power and performance, From my time using my friends Dyson and comparing it to the Kogan V11 it is very comparable.
The quality of the build is obviously lower but for the task it was designed for it did it well and there is not a $700 difference in performance.

Kogan is joking at it's RRP of $500+ but at this price point it's a solid bargain.
Keep in mind I'm expecting these products to last 2-3 years (Especially with the external battery replacements) before replacing them so even at this price, You could replace it 2-4 times before even hitting the price point of the Dyson.

Youtube Review:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9VX6THYqJI - This is the Kogan C11 which was the V11's predecessor, From what I can tell it was released early 2020 then replaced with the V11. Looks very similar so most of the review points should be valid.

Battery performance looks the same as a Dyson V8

I'd personally only buy Dyson or a Xiaomi Dreame…. This may just be a rebadged Xiaomi however.

    • I was also looking at the Xiaomi Dreame but decided to take a chance on this one.

Can't tell if it's a rebranded Xiaomi but this is the identical product on Aliexpress (Minus rebadge details - Kogan even use the same photos) - shorturl.at/lyGR5

    • Would like to find out more about this. I'm with you on those 2 brands. If this is indeed a rebranded Xiaomi Dreame V11 then it's a reasonably good price. If it's anything else I will pass.

EDIT: ships in March, I'm out.

bruh… OP literally stated that it's a rebadge of a Dibea, not a Xiaomi

No idea which one's better, though. Dibea doesn't get much coverage in English, and China tends to get slightly different models.

I have an older Dibea (~2.5 years old), it's still going strong but the filtration sucks ass. I can 100000% guarantee that wasn't a true HEPA filter, despite whatever they put in marketing images. Not sure if they're better now.

      "Ships on 8th Mar"

      Well that sucks

    • Yeah I saw that too, Which was why I settled for the standalone model without extras.

    • Yeah it's obviously still in manufacturing.

  • 25kpa?
Not sure how accurate is that

    • Can't be 100% certain, Seems to be plastered all over their marketing
      100 Air Watts though!

    • regardless of how accurate it is, without giving exact test conditions, it's as useful as comparing cars by their color.

  • Any good vacuum deals atm? and or what should i be aiming for, 1 br apt

    • Any pets?

      • Nope!

        • Some kind of robot vac. Don’t get an iRobot. Someone will tell you one of the better ones that actually maps your floor properly.

what should i be aiming for

I'm no cleaning expert, but I'd aim for the floor.

    $349 for V11 Absolute?! Kogan

    • +1

      Sorry, It's Kogan's version of the Dyson V11 Absolute…
      This is not a Dyson

    • +2

Here I was excited for a bargain… Surely Kogan are getting close to misleading advertising laws calling this the V11 Absolute. I feel a cease and desist coming from Dyson over this…

  • I bought the last version of this when they were on presale. The build quality is astonishingly low, if it is anything like the anything I've bought from Kogan, I'd very strongly recommend to stay the f away

    • +2

Well for $350 you certainly won't get Dyson quality. You get what you pay for.

      • I mean vacuum techs i've seen on reddit and youtube say Dyson build quality isn't even that good.

Can't imagine how bad this Kogan one would be.

    • Ah sorry to hear that mate. It's sturdy plastic mould but nothing to write home about.
The only metal/aluminum part is the hose/main tube.

Is yours still working OK? The only fiddly aspect is the bin release but I've figured it out now.
For the price I had my expectations correctly set

      • +1

Yeah I've had it for a full year now, it definitely works fine, the battery life has dropped by 40-50% and some plastic clips fall off ocassionally and I just have to clip them back on. Its copped quite a lot of drops as the balance is terrible lol, if it is 1mm off balance it will fall. Sometimes it just falls over in the middle of the night.. I have nowhere convenient to wall mount it, so if you can then do that. Other than that it still sucks just as hard as the first day we met

        • HAHAHA! If only that was true for everything in life. :P

Yeah only concern is the battery life going down hill over time.
I jumped onto a spare battery just in case as knowing Kogan it will be a nightmare to get parts for this down the track.
If I get 2-3 years of decent work out of her, I'll consider it a successful relationship

I'd prefer a Dyson V11 any day of the week but I also like having the extra $700 in my pocket too.

Bought the C11 Pro earlier this year & think it is fantastic for the price ($189). Easily the best stick vacuum we have tried over the years. Only concerning thing is it is now not on the Kogan website at all - so if I want a spare battery down the track we may be out of luck. Too quick to just move on to the next model maybe?

  • I can just imagine someone's grandparents ordering them one of these for Christmas, and thinking it's the same Dyson V11 that their grown-up kids were talking about…
"Darling, you'll be thrilled! We've got you one of those V11 super vacs, and we saved $600!"

    +1 for the effort/review

    • Thanks mate! Wouldn't normally bother with a Kogan branded product but this one really impressed me. ^_^
