Woolworths Promos out of Stock Item

With this time of year Woolworths comes out with codes if you do various shops or spend over certain amounts in your shop you get a voucher email prior to Xmas day. Looking on there t&c nothing mentioned about it.
But placed my order online it’s a online or pick up option spent the qualified amount and it being Woolworths they never give you the right meat weight.
So end up with less meat and refunded the difference.
Also one item was not in stock, so what happens with my spend over certain amount I did spend over that amount but they never provided that amount due to less meat weight and out of stock item.
I basically have till 15th dec until deal ends and if I had wanted and done it over few shops.
Obviously online or pick up in store you need to spend $30 and I’m not really interested in doing so as just did the big shop.
But I did my side of the deal on spending or placing the qualifying about but they reduced that amount due to one item out of stock and meat less in weight.
I be bit annoyed that just one item in my shop stopped us getting the email with voucher anyone experienced this before do they take into account or if you spent that amount regardless of order amount ie stock it’s all good.

Don’t trust them anything to wiggle out of not paying up.

  • Send them a complaint, maybe if enough people do they could provide rewards based on the customer spend, regardless of the Woolies reductions from not supplying what was requested in the order.

  • I remember 20 years ago I used to do online shopping in the UK, they'd deliver your groceries for you. Always they would exclude things and refund them, or offer substitutes. A bit weird for a Woolworths to run out of something off the shelf because we give them billions every year to improve their distribution network and predictions. But what are you gonna do, shop at IGA instead?

    • It’s crazy when you do online order that if item not in stock then should not be able to order, most shops we do it’s always pretty good but at times there is the odd or several items out of stock.
      I used to use gift card most times but it become a pain as they just refund in a code where you had to then spend a further $30 to do pick up.
      Not I use gift card and a little off the card.
      I used to complain if say the refunded me $10 I said give me a e-gift card so I can use it now not have to place a $30 order. Seems to work so far until today where the meat weight and out of stock took it little over.
      So I have to do a pick up in store to use that later.

      Woolworths for me sure has got greedy prices on things slightly up but hey it happens everywhere.

      I remember when you ordered meat you would gain or get stuff worth a lot more than your order was, what tight ass idea was this to give less and refund difference, I don’t think I have a shop yet where meat has been what we wanted never the weight always less. Is this they don’t have the weight or shopper is to lazy to pick the right meats.

      Every week they used to provide codes, money off and this was a big reason why I been with Woolworths for years but it’s very rare these days apart from this time of year. I remember Groupon where you used to buy voucher with mega savings that stopped ages ago.

      Its easier for us to do online shopping but it’s annoying when items are not supplied even with you ask for alternatives.
      And your not even guaranteed doing a small pick up that items will be available and messed about with refunds.

      This promo says spend over $400 spent $405 in my invoice it says this, but with out of stock item and meat weight that down to $388 or there about, now do they base my spend on what I should have received or what I got in the end. As there t&c says nothing about it.
      As it’s an online or pick up deal it’s not as if I can go to store and pick up what I never got or make up what my quality spend is.
      And to do this I would need to pick up spend $30 and again not be guaranteed that all items I want are available.

      I’m sure I have had similar deals and ended up with certain items not in stock but still got voucher regardless if was less. But they have become such tight ass these days would not surprise me they not provide.

        • Coles is worse,,, cancel on 30mins notice and hold the preauthorisation for 7-10 days..

      • Previously you were able to contact everydayrewards and get the points credited.
        They've recently included the following in their online ordering t&c and have been rejecting points claims based on the clause.

        Qualifying amount is the final amount charged to you(ie after deductions for any out of stock items)

        fwiw… if you're up to $400 spends.. might be time to open a few more accounts…

            ie. 6 cards and received the 3000 bonus points offer on all for linking woolworths app - no min spend.

    You need to do what everyone else does. Order more stuff to take you over the price threshold. That allows for items being under weight or out of stock.

      Why would j need to order more stuff? I think $405 is enough to be honest and i dont have control of what stocks they have when order is being picked.

      There is a option for alternative but sometimes they still dont use that,

      There ever changing habbits and ideas is crazy, they dont say when they email what meat changes are or what it is.
      I thought what we ordered was lesser weight but its not even on the lnvoice i mean its not listed as out of stock.
      Its on the main list with other items.

      As far as my invoice says and my email given only one item is listed as out of stock?
      But a certain meat has not been given so i add both this and the out of stock item and comes close to what is refunded.
      Is it really hard to say what im missing ie out of stock meat item etc.

      Not only this unless i have missed this option but im pretty sure i would see it.
      They used to supply the invoice wirh your shop. You get such list as a receipt if in store but online obviously bigger.
      I like to check with this list to make sure everything is right and there.
      But they dont provide it,last time i had shopping delivered my ink was run out well barely enough ink to print it.
      Is this really hard for them to provide, they are delivering loads of bags leaving a list with driver or in bags like before why stop it.
      Driver said call the store once i placed my order i should not need to.
      A simple thing to have on there site to tick a box invoice/list included or not.

      As for my post on the deal i had a chat with them and the voucher later to be emailed, they go by what order cost was at first and not what it was if out of stock items.
      So thats good but let's see, i took a screenshot just incase.

        • Lol that is to last us a month but you could add more to that over a month as items are repurchases like milk,bread etc.
          And then the odd thing we need, but i believe some spend this and more per week.

          According to the guy on chat they go by the total at first checkout so any out of stock etc does not affect the voucher later.
          I took a screenshot just incase, but i have if i wanted to buy more before 15th dec to make sure.
          But dont fancy spending another $30 as its a pick up or online only option to make sure.
          I did my parr and they can do there part, if im not given the voucher come 21st dec then i be showing the screenshot.

          For me its a $40 voucher which is a nice little bonus to use later.

    Weights and measures laws probably mean that they can't give you more than you ordered, and it'd be too difficult to give you the exact amount.

    • Is this new laws as few years back you used to get stuff with more weight and more in cost for your lower price paid.
      It was a boost to get meat and get a bigger chunk of it at higher value at your lower cost.
      So either its a new law thing or greed got the better of them, they probably rather throw it out than give it to a customers..
      But now its very rarely you get the meat for price you paid as its normally less weight and refunded or its due to picker not getting a closer weight to what was ordered. But the certainly not give you more thats long gone.

      • Not a new law. Perhaps I put it badly - they won't want to give you more than you ordered and have you pay only for what you ordered.

  • Very similar situation happened to me. Rang up and argued for 40mins - and they gave me the $40 bonus voucher. They need to work on their terms and conditions, they aren’t clear and they have exclusions that aren’t covered on T&Cs.
