Upgraded from an Xbox One X to a Series X via JB preorder. I can say the experience has been underwhelming. I play mostly FPS (COD titles). The new Black Ops title only works at 60Hz and VRR turned off ( which the older console can run as well). The recent update even killed that and now Xbox thinks I haven't purchased the game. I also had to reinstall several games ( the new gen console version) multiple times. AC Valhalla graphics have been meh too.
I have TV (LG C9) that can support 4k@120Hz and VRR. It seems like the Xbox console GUI doesn't run at that configuration, so you can see temporary flashes while switching between games.
It is a 750$ Blu ray player for me till Xbox & Activision fix all these bugs.

It's hard to get excited on Series X with AC V. It's the same graphics engine as the most recent titles and it is not yet well optimised for Series S and X (running at a lower dynamic resolution compare to PS5 as a temporary workaround).
What netsurfer said below. I think we will have to wait till at least mid-2021 to see developers make full use of the Series X capabilities.
Visually, the only game that did justice to the next gen features of an LG TV was Spiderman Miles-Morales (PS5). It isn't my kind of game but I was blown away by the graphics when a mate dropped by with his PS5 to test the TV.
Appreciate your review on this. I have a One X with an LG C8 and when I first experience full 4K HDR gaming I was blown away! I feel like Im going to save my monies for something a bit further down the track :)

What sucks is JB hi-fi hasn't delivered on their release day pre orders but is just throwing stock on shelves for randoms walking in.

i think JB now know too many scalpers can scalp too easily via bots and what not when stock is posted online. This walk in store to buy maximises the chances the purchasers are genuine users who want it to play and not for resale. I agree with this approach but yes can be frustrating for those who ordered on launch day and haven't received their console.
