  • Lets see how long this lasts

    • +1

      1 hour.

  • Is it worth waiting or pulling g the trigger now?

    • +1

      Wait for?

      • Until next year when prices settle for the other cards

        • +4

Why would you buy it now?

      • 6700

    • If you want a 3060, this MSI card boosts quite high. Its a budget conscious choice.

  • +6

Of course there's stock, no one wants any goddamn 3060s.. where the (profanity) are the 3080s?

    • +4

The steam hardware survey shows that a majority of people are still using 1060's. The budget cards will still prevail in the future.

      • -2

        Stock levels indicate otherwise

        • +4

It takes a bit more than 2 days for a product to make it out to market…

        • wrong

      • +10

        I wouldn't call a $700 card a budget card lol.

        • +2

          Its still the "budget" tier…

        • +3

Literally what my GTX 780 cost at launch before 780 ti was a thing. Prices are just stupid now.

        • -1

          I call $1200 a budget card 😂

      • +1

It’s double the price of what the 1660 cost - or there abouts.

        • +2

I got my MSI 1660 for $220 about a year ago, no chance ill ever see a 3060 go for that in the next 7 years.

          • @TrafalgarSean: 1660 is like 3-4 steps below the comparable previous gen 2060 Super.

            It went

            1650 -> 1650S -> 1660 - > 1660S -> 1660ti -> 2060 -> 2060S -> 2070 - 2070S -> 2080 -> 2080S -> 2080ti -> Titan RTX

2060 Supers have not been available for less than $430 from my brief ozbargain search. 1660 was more of an upper low range card than a true mid range card.

Many of us have been wanting the 3070. Fortunately, I managed to pounce on one at Mwave who briefly had some in stock before disappearing again. I confirmed I got one though.

      • +2

Same, but I decided to sacrifice 10fps for about $200 less + no more waiting.

        • +3

Ill go further and sacrifice 100fps and about $720 + shipping + no more waiting.

        • Yeah, 10fps is barely noticeable when you go over 60 anyway. For me, I just wanted to play MSFS properly and for that you only need 30+ fps. And let's be honest, a large majority of gamers are not gaming above 1920x1080 resolutions yet anyway. The 4k monitors are still quite expensive. The 3080 cards actually seem hard to come by, the 3070 a little easier if you check a couple of times a day.

The 3060 ti worth $600 AUD max. I refuse to buy it until it hit that price.

    • Not sure why you got negged for that, that price will be easily attainable through Amazon AU via US once stock is easy to find. The US MSRP is much lower than AU even factoring in GST.

      440 (400+40 GST = 592AUD), its under 1k, so no extra 10% import fee.

      • The US is even more hungry for GPU's than we are.

        • Did you not see "once stock is easy to find?", the person I replied to said they are happy to wait, im just saying it'll be quite easy to get it for the price they want in a few months.

          • @Vinodra: Its a how long is a piece of string kinda question. There might be a 3060 and rx 5700 and a whole bunch of other cards before they're considered 'easy to find'. Unless youre just replying to me because you got downvoted, in that case I did not downvote you.

            • @ATangk: Again, they said they will wait until that price, I was replying to their situation, not yours.

I replied to you, because you replied to me.

If people want to spend 100-150 over US MSRP + GST for the lowest end 3060ti AIB cards, that's fine, but similar cards will be worth $600 in early- mid 2021.

Once stock increases, you will be able to get a high end 3060ti ROG strix for lile $30 more than this.

              • @Vinodra: the problem with this line of thinking is you are knocking half a year or more off your card. Spending $700 on a card for 4 years ($175 / year) vs $600 for a card for 3.5 years ($171.50 / year) Technically getting around the same value outta the card imo you can just enjoy having it for longer and earlier in the first case, Assuming you want to replace the card at the same point in time due to performance targets and how much more powerful new gpus would be at that time.

                • @neferseki: Again, since you people don't seem to get this, I was responding to a person that wants to wait for it to be that price.

What dont you understand about that?

If you're happy to be ripped off by nvidia / AIBs just because you live in Australia, that's up to you.

                  • @Vinodra: sure, but i wasn't replying to those comments. I was replying to this very specific part of your previous comment.

"If people want to spend 100-150 over US MSRP + GST for the lowest end 3060ti AIB cards, that's fine, but similar cards will be worth $600 in early- mid 2021.

Once stock increases, you will be able to get a high end 3060ti ROG strix for lile $30 more than this."

Thats all, I wasn't replying to the rest of your conversation.

      • only the FE is at US$400 which is very limited. AIB are selling at $450-510 in the US which is AU$670 - 750 incl GST

    • Yeah I'd pull the trigger on $600 but otherwise sitting on my 1070ti patiently observing.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, finally succumbed.

  • Will there be much difference between the 2 fan vs the 3 fan versions?

    • +4

      Yes, one fan.

Jokes aside, two fan gpus usually have to work harder and are therefore louder.

    • +2

If you aren't thermal throttling, then performancewise it should be similar. But with more fans, you'd run cooler which allows your system to boost higher for longer. For example, the Asus RoG Strix 3 fan card runs 100% gpu load at a cool 58 deg C. This is 16 degrees cooler than the 3060 Ti FE card.

Forgot to mention, 2 fan cards will run at 100% fan speed more often which means LOUD.

  • Showing $999 for me.

    • +1

The title card is sold out, so they raise the price to stop people from inquiring. The ones in the body are still available.

  • +3

mwave, pccasegear and umart all have 3060 stock, not that i'd want to buy one.
