Get 10% Cashback Every Saturday in December (Max $30 Back Per Transaction) Using Tap & Pay @ Zip

8761

There seems to be a lot of confusion based on the comments so let me try and clarify how this works:

  1. Sign up to Zip Pay. Not Zip Money. You can use the 'Related Offers' at the bottom of this description for new signup options. Note that you must provide your email address or phone number if you want a referral, there’s no referral link and you can’t be referred without that info!
  2. Download the Apple or Android app and sign in with your details. You will need a smartphone with NFC.
  3. Go to the "Cards" tab within the Zip app. Click on Add to Apple Wallet (or Google Wallet if using android).
  4. Go to any store that accepts tap & go on credit/debit cards. Do not ask if they accept Zip Payment as this is a separate payment method.
  5. Purchase anything (any gift cards, services, goods, literally anything) and checkout with Apple Pay or Google Pay by tapping your digital Zip card on Saturday. Do not spend more than $300 in one transaction if you want to maximise your benefit as you won't get 10% back above $300!
  6. You should see the rewards balance reflected under "Rewards" within the "Your Zip" tab of the app immediately.
  7. Once you have reached $30 in credit, click on the redeem button to apply the credit to your account.
  8. Pay off your Zip account by linking a credit card to earn points and defer payment (The screen says debit card but many have confirmed credit cards to work as well - Amex will not work). It takes 3 days for processing payments to finalise and you cannot make additional payments sooner than that.
Things to note:
  • Applying for a Zip account will trigger a credit check.
  • Redeemable once you've reached $30 in credit (I.e. Min spend $300)
  • Rewards balance will continue accruing even if you don't redeem $30.
  • There's no daily limit. The only limit is your credit limit.
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay don't have a $100 tap and pay limit like normal cards. The limit is unlimited since you biometrically authenticate yourself at the time of payment.
  • You cannot prepay your zip account via BPAY so that it goes into credit. I contacted Zip and they informed me that since they’re not a bank they’re not allowed to hold deposits. If you prepay your account you will be breaching their T&Cs and your account may get blocked. It will take a few days to unblock. Do so at your own risk, some have reported success while others have confirmed they got blocked.
  • You cannot make payments online.
  • Max $30 back per transaction.
  • Excludes Westfield gift cards purchased from Westfield
  • On days other than Saturday, you can still earn 3% or 5% cash back that will accrue towards your rewards balance.
  • Within a twenty-four (24) hour period, you (a) are limited to redeeming your Reward Goal eight (8) times, and (b) will not earn any further credit back if you spend $4,000 or more.
  • 10% back on Super Saturdays will override all other cashback offers with lower % back.
  • By end of 8 January 2021, any credit back that has not reached the Reward Goal will be cancelled.

                @ce5himm: Yes they will be.

                • @macleancherry: How does the rewards work, if I have currently a balance of $15 and I buy $300 tomorrow, will the rewards cap at $30 or will it automatically redeem $30, and then roll over to the next $15?

        • Is it limited to $30 per Saturday?

          • +1

@paperpaper: No. You could spend $900 and redeem three times.

            • @macleancherry: So is $900 a limit or something?

              • +1

@sub102: No I was using it as an example, the effective limit is your account credit limit with us.

        • @Mac: can you turn on your PM?

    • I only signed up half an hour ago. Got everything sorted with the 10% offer for tomorrow quite quickly.

  • +1

It's technically a cash back right? With a minimum withdrawal of 30 Bux each time.

    • Yep it seems each 300 you spend you can claim 30 Bux as a reward. If you don't reach the next 300 goal before promotion ends, bad luck.

Infinite transactions though, so it's better buying things at a time, cos a 700 dollar thing won't be 70 points only max 30 per transaction.

      • However can you do 2 transactions a day or only $300 max a Saturday?

I assume credit stays in zip for as long as you need

  • Every Saturday in December 2020, being 5, 12, 19 and 26 December 2020 between 12:00am (AEDT) and 11:59pm

    $30 MAX at a 10% rate… Spend $300 on these 4 saturdays to make your money's worth!

    • Max of $30 cashback PER transaction. You can have multiple transactions per day.

      • Wait so theres no cap per saturday? ie, unlimited cashback? Just $30 per transaction?

        • +1

there is a hard cap which is your credit limit. i.e the max you can spend.

        • Depends on your limit.

          • @neilpatrickharris: Is the cashback instant?

And it should be fine if i pay off the limit instantly right?

            • @Koipanda: you can't pay your balance more than the credit limit. You will have to wait for the transaction to clear i.e no "pending" which usually take at least 1-2day. So if you spend something on Friday, you may not even got it cleared by Saturday.

              • @samehada: ah damn that sucks :( I'm on a $350 limit when my previous account is $500… Any idea how to increase?

                • @Koipanda: what do you mean by previous account? I thought you can only get 1 account. The only way is to build it up over time. i.e 6 months, just use the account and pay back on time and you will get invitation for credit limit increase.

                  • @samehada: I closed my account then reopened it after being rejected in-between.

            • @Koipanda: Yes it’s instantly reflected. I think you need to wait a day to pay off.

              • @neilpatrickharris: depends on the merchant, some take 2-3 days to clear. So to be safe not to use your limit on Friday.

            • @Koipanda: Well the terms state it takes up to 7 days to receive the cashback.
It's been awhile since I used zip pay but when I did it frustrated me how long it took for them to issue some sort of statement etc to allow me to pay the amount off, but that was over 12 months ago so hopefully things have changed.

    • before you get your hope up, you'd better open zippay account to see what limit you get first. Some ppl only have $350 limit. Anyway, you can use the zippay and after 6month can get the limit increased so it maybe good for future offer.

      • How long at those bigw gift cards available? Maybe only tomorrow, probably be all gone by next week.

  • “An eligible transaction excludes Westfield gift cards”

    lmao

    • Is that legit?

      • Yeah in the t and c

    • Anyone wanna test it?

  • do these work like credit card? So I pay with it, and then I can repay it straight away by transferring money into the zip acc? long as I do this there's no late fee or interest?

  • Has anyone tried paying ato bill at auspost with zip?

    • yeah i got 3k on my tax i gotta pay ato. This would be useful

    • You can only pay with eftpos or cash

  • What is the paypass limits right now at say bigw or wws? If I buy $300 gift card, and using Google pay. Do I need to put a pin on? I cannot remember I've set a pin for the zip.

    • I think the paypass limit is $200

      • So better to do 2+1, cos I have no idea if it ask for a pin. Or zip has no limit?

      • Paypass limit is higher for Apple pay and google pay when compared with normal tap and go on cards. I think I've done $1500 before

        • Ok, good to know, then only $300 should be no problem.

    • I’ve paid over 1k on MasterCard without Pin via Apple Pay

      • Thanks

    • Tapping Apple Pay or Google Pay bypasses PIN requirement because you're authenticating on your phone.

Tapping a card has a limit before you need a PIN (typically $200 in Australia).

That aside, if you check the "My Cards" section in your Zip app you'll see that we've built the functionality for you to create and manage a PIN against your card.

      Mac from Zip

      • Do you mean there is no pin required using Apple/Google pay with zip( say $500), however using Apple/Google pay with normal bank credit card, pin is required for over $200.

        • It's not specific to Zip, it's all Apple Pay / Google Pay. When you authenticate with your fingerprint, face or password that is used in place of a PIN.

  • Terms and Conditions
"This Offer is only available on Saturdays in December (every Saturday in December 2020, being 5, 12, 19 and 26 December 2020 between 12:00am (AEDT) and 11:59pm (AEDT) on each of these Saturdays) ("Offer Period")."

    and

    1. By end of 8 January 2021, any credit back that has not reached the Reward Goal will be cancelled.
    • +1

Make sure you claim straight away when it reaches 30.

      • How do you claim?

        • in the app

          • +1

@ce5himm: Won't the $30 simply go toward how much you owe them? Unless you pay of what you owe them each time before they credit you. Let's say you spend 300 using tap and zip, so when you pay them back, you will be giving them $270 instead of $300.

I'm basing this on how their Amazon 10% off sale.

            • @Misogi Kumagawa: It's different from Amazon deal. They have a rewards bar, when you reach $30, you can claim. Otherwise it will just sit there until expired.also this is for tap&zip, you need to go instore, use zip online won't count.

        • The only thing is the money will come as a new transaction in app (about 7 days after your tap). So you will still be using that app for future payments, until you have used up that cashback. Is that correct?

And potentially you could use the cashback to add to your next Saturday shopping and compound it, possibly!

          • @sixsense: I guess you can use the cashback for whatever purchase. it's basically money sitting in your credit card account.

          • @sixsense: you can use the cashback on the same day.

  • Can we buy coles/woolies gift cards ($300 worth) from coles/woolies each saturday so we get $30 off?

    • I think so.

    • Yes

    • whats your credit limit? you can buy more than $300.

      • The only thing that even if you exceed $300, they will only pay you $30 cashback

        • +1

for a single transaction. read the t&c.

    • +1
  • So does this only work for merchants with apple pay/google pay? Or is it anywhere with an eftpos terminal?

    • +1

any contactless eftpos should work. but you have to use apple pay or google pay on your mobile

      • Ok cool thanks

  • +1

a lot of home work to do with this. zip sure is spending a lot of money in marketing

  • So can I start with the $100 Coles master card and $50 Ebay card worth $15 total before this bonus ?

  • So. can only buy $1000 gift card as my zip limit is $1000 and get 100 back ?

    • You can make additional payment, so it is like spend 1000 , make additional payment straight away 800, then you are good to go with the 800. Possible another 90 as the cashback. I haven't practice myself. This is my understanding.

      • tap & pay payment will be pending for a few days and you cant pay off the outstanding balance before its finalised.

        • Ok, ignore my post above. Easy.
How about the cashback, will it show straight away? Or until the payment is processed.

          • @ce5himm: the cash back should show instantly after the transaction is finalised.

            • @PissLUR: Thanks, good to know this. Guess we will see how it works tomorrow. Those retailer will not understand why gift cards are suddenly so popular. Lol

        • Can we top it up by bpay

  • +1

Signed up just now but only got $500 credit :(

    • Spend 300, pay it off immediately, repeat

      • +1

NO, you cant pay a pending trxn off on the same day. If your limit is $500, you can only spend $500/day plus credits back if any.

    • Please i got $350 :(
And i resigned up from $500

      • how is this decided? mine just automatically goes to $1000

  • what number is the reward goal?

  • -3

Wish if it was afterpay. Zippay never works for me. Also too complicated to use than afterpay. Which works all the time for me

  • +2

Can you top up your account beyond your limit if you just use BPAY to send a few grand into it?

    • -1

      No

      • Are you referring to generally or this specific offer?

I accidentally sent an extra few hundred recently into my Zip account and it just recorded it as additional credit. Been trying to use it up lately.

    • +1

You can overpay it to exceed the limit if you have balance. Last week i accidentally did it because when i pressed pay the app just didn't response and update my balance, so I repeated it twice. It's some sort of glitch so I'm not sure if they've fixed it but I got a few hundred extra in limit.

  • So is there a maximum cash back limit per ACCOUNT?

    • +2

It looks like the most you will be able to spend in a single Saturday is your max limit. So just calculate 10% off of that and that is the most you can earn.

    • +1

If you link a credit card to your zip account, you can make additional payment at anytime and it's instant. I'm not sure about Bpay though.

      • But wouldnt that be cash advance?

        • I think it's like direct debit from your credit card, I have not had an issue before.

  • +1

this all really comes down to if there's gift cards left, most people would have already gone out and bought a lot of gift cards especially with 10% off and if you've got a huge purchase

    • If only you could return gift cards and repurchase them

  • +6

    For those who are confused.

    Reward Goal:
    - TAP & PAY ONLY.
    - Matures at $30.
    - You can accumulate the amount by multiple purchases. NO PREMATURE WITHDRAWAL.
    - Once it matures at $30 and you get the credit, the amount will be zeroed and can be re-accumulated until the promotion ends.

(Works like Flybuys / Woolies reward points)

    Those Saturdays:
You get 10% of your purchases into your Reward Goal

    Other days:
You get 3% of your purchases into your Reward Goal

Currently, the rates don’t stack, but you always get the most favourable rate at each day.

    • +1

So it's credit in your zip account? That's a bit annoying. I spose easy enough to spend.

      • +3

I think it's just less to pay off on your zip account

      • +3

Well, since Zip can be used as a credit card I suppose giving you Zip credit is pretty much the same as cash?

It’s actually equal to FREE cash back if you use Zip to buy things and then pay the money back before your statement arrives. That’s what I do.
