    • +5

List is also missing Mario Tennis Aces

      • Thanks for that!

    • What happen to Super Mario 3D All-Stars?

      • Still available here

        • As in, price is dropping too soon.

  • +3

Ringfit is also on sale for $83!

    • Where do you see that?

  • +5

Really good deal OP for anybody who missed the Amazon lightning deals over the weekend. Nice first post! :)

  • is Super Mario Party any good?

    • +21

Not compared to earlier entries (particularly 2 and 3).
It's nice that they got rid of the "ride around the map together" idea, but it never received any extra content, the cutscenes and speech bubbles are mostly unskippable, the map and minigame count is relatively low, and you have to collectively agree to not use the hideously overpowered golden warp pipe.

      • Golden pipe OP but part of the game. No worse than stealing stars.

    • +4

Not as good as previous versions on other consoles so if you've played the titles before then it's a bit of a let down.
Probably doesn't need to be said but need 4 people. The AI is bad when you use them to fill the remaining spots.

    • +2

I'd say the mini games are alright, but there are only four small game boards to play on. Theres not really much else content wise.

    • +2

Don't bother. It gets repetitive, and there's only 4(?) game boards. It looks to have been abandoned by the developers too, as no updates since launch except a minor bug fix early on. So disappointing.

    • +2

Agree with the other comments, minigames are fun but the 4 boards get old quick.

    • Sadly no, and I really really wanted it to be.

  • +20

Not a great deal honestly, most of those games were selling for $49 or less during last week's Black Friday sales. But I guess its okay if you missed out.

I would probably wait for the Boxing Day sales at this stage if you are not in a hurry.

    • +10

Yes if only people has time machine to go back a week or forward another year.

      • +6

Yes, I need a time machine to go back and undo all the impulse buying I made. I guess tuna and rice for the next 2 weeks is not so bad.

      • +15

Not a great deal honestly, time machines are expensive right now. If you wait another 380 years then they are as cheap as 2020 televisions. You just have to follow the code of practice or they instantly vapori

    • +4

      No they were not.

    • +2

not everyone was able to access the flash sales

    • "Most" of the games were not on sale.

  • +2

"Step One: While stocks last, spend $50 or more from the selected LEGO items below."

    • +3

I thought that was weird too but I put two qualifying games into the cart and the discount was properly applied, no LEGO necessary!

  • You can still get the Neon Blue Red Console with Mario Kart 8 and 3mths Switch Online for $399 with Prime. Not as good as the Black Friday sale but still cheaper than everyone else.

    • +15

Haha have you even looked on gumtree? not likely to save more than $5 if your lucky for the pleasure of getting a used copy that someone has already redeemed the nintendo credits from and that you have to go drive to pickup and hope that they werent lying about the description or havent sold it to someone else while you were on your way.

      • -5

Depend where you are and your negotiation skills. I am selling and buying switch games for over 1 year. I know my local market. Mate. Of course it's not like you will get a good deal anytime you search. But you don't need 10 games at the same time either ,you won't have time to play all of them. Play while looking for good deals. That the way to save.

For those gold coins, do you really care those $0.8. come on . Also most of these games already passed the 12 months mark, you can not claim the coin at all, even it's brand new.

Needless to say my record low were $15 for animal crossing and $10 for Mario odyssey.

This is just an option for those who want to save more. If it does not works for you, then fine. it will work for someone.

      • +9

Thanks for reminding me of the Gold points for physical games, I forgot about those. For those who don't know..if a game is less than a year old, you put in the cartridge and highlight the game with + button and click on Nintendo Rewards program. You will only get 80 cents worth of gold coins but this is Ozbargain and any free $$$ is worth your time! I think the coins expire after 12 months but you can always find a game on the eShop for a few dollars. Always check dekudeals.com to see what deals are on offer :)

        • +1

12 months from purchase date or release date?

          • +1

@chriise: You have to "redeem" the points within 12 months of release date of the game. Your coins will expire 12 months after the "purchase" date. I hope that clarifies your question :) To check if any of your games are valid i generally just google the games release date…and anytime I purchase from the eShop I generally use the coins first, I don't know if you can find a way to see when they expire as I've never had that happen

    • +2

Yeah new switch owner like me lol.
Bought the switch from Amazon during the BF sale for the kids.. Haven't had a console since Xbox360 and handheld since Nintendo DS lol.

Thinking of getting the Splatoon 2 and Links Awakening as the $110 combo as the first choice.
Alternate is Super Mario Odyssey or Super Mario Bros U Deluxe.
      2 kids, 17 and 11… Any recommendations/advise?

      • +2

        Splatoon and Odyssey. Maybe Mariokart.

        • +1

Cool Will get that then. Gotten Mario Kart Digital from the Amazon BF Sale package.

      • +1

Super Mario Odyssey along with Breath of the Wild are the best games on Switch. Definitely those if possible.

Splatoon 2 is really fun online. Links Awakening is good, but not incredible.

        • +1

Cheers. Already have BOTW on the way from the sale that day…

      • +1

Odyssey was the best mario game I've played in years. I sold my Switch because I never really got into it (I'm 36 years old with too much disposable income and not enough time though) but I finished Odyssey. Didn't finish anything else (not even BotW).

Almost kept it just for Kart and Smash Bros though, they never ever get old, if you haven't picked those up yet.

  • +1

Has anyone played Mario Tennis Aces? Reading mixed reviews..

    • +2

I loved it but multiplayer is dead. You'll struggle to find a match.

      • Thanks for that. Is there enough single player content to keep you going for a while?

        • +1

There is a singleplayer campaign, not too long or hard. The game is definitely more polished now than at release when it was missing features (you couldn't select the surface/stadium, was randomized)

      • If you want to play multiplayer you'll want to schedule matches via this Discord: https://discord.gg/XqnC2y4S

    • +2

Fantastic game for local couch co-op or even vsing CPUs it's still fun. Online multiplayer was great but as mentioned, pretty much dead at this point.

  • +1

    Which two?

    Kart and Odyssey? 🤔

    • +3

I was personally leaning towards Odyssey and Links Awakening (played it to death as a youngster on OG Gameboy)

    • Got kart from the bundle. Might go for Odyssey and Sword

  • +2

Another sale where Fire Emblem Three Houses isn't included ):

    • +1

Yes. I've been looking at getting it but it's never on sale.

    • +2

its on eshop for $50 odd but ends in 10 hours.

      • Which is a better price than this to boot

  • Splatoon 2 can be single player?

    • There is a singleplayer mode, its decent enough, kind of like a tutorial mode with challenges and boss fights. But the multiplayer is so much fun

    • Single player is pretty solid, and good prep for jumping into multiplayer.

The Octo Expansion DLC is also single player, and a lot of fun.

I’ve sunk more time into Splatoon than I’d care to admit, and far more than any other Switch game.

    • +1

You need to pay Nintendo sub to play online. Used to be free. I haven’t played online since they started charging for this.

      • find a family plan for about $6 per year.

        • Where do you find them? Cost me around $40 for the year.

    • +1

The Splatoon games both have great single player, in fact, i didn't like the multiplayer at all, i just got them to play through the campaigns which are like platforming/shooting/puzzle solving, which the multiplayer is not.

  • +1

I can't believe nintendo released new super mario bros u instead or new super mario bros wii.
The wii version is 100 times better. Way more thought and creativity.

    • No one played the Wii U version though. It's like a new game in most people's minds.

      • Feel sorry for people who played u version instead of wii version.
Nintendo could have even released a double version similar to 3D allstars.

    • i actually really hate NSMB. i dont know if it is like this in U but i found the controls to be very very floaty and slow to respond. whereas the wii version was pretty responsive.

      • not sure I don't like this version so didn't get it a second time on switch.

  • +2

Some decent titles on there for first party… and they maintain resale value too :)

  • Any recommendations out of this list for primary school age kids?

    • +1

my kids love mario kart, smash bro, animal crossing

      • and new super mario bros u deluxe

  • Arms never comes on sale :(

  • Not the best deal because a lot of them have been cheaper.

Nevertheless, a lot of people missed the past lighting deals, and what a great opportunity to get "cheap" Switch games.

  • -1

I've got all these at launch. Even at $55 per game it's not that much less than launch prices.

  • +1

aw but i have all those…

  • Thanks! Got Pokémon Sword and Link's Awakening.

  • +2

'New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe' or 'Super Smash Bros Ultimate' ?
Already have New Super Mario Bros U & Super Smash Bros on Wii U.

  • +1

Not working. I got Links Awakening, Mario Party, Mario U and Smash in cart which comes to $236 on checkout. Already with $27 discount applied.

    • -1

The Offer is limited to a maximum of one redemption per customer account.

  • Any advice on games for 5 year olds? I’ll grab animal crossing but not sure which other might be suitable.

  • Ooooft have all of these titles already

  • Got Links awakening and Smash Bros on this deal, not bad.

  • +1

Heads up.. Mario Oddissey going to be offered free with Nintendo Pro controller

    Source:

    • +1

      Hopefully in Australia too though?

  • Wish they would include Luigi's mansion in this deal then it would be a deal for me.

  • +1

Looks like some games have been removed.
I tried to purchase Mario party today and it's no longer part of the deal :(

    • +1

Yeah, looks like they've removed 4 games from the promotion. Have updated the list, sorry you missed out :(
