AMD Ryzen 5 5600x for $499 + Delivery @ Harris Technology

610

Compared to other deals a few days back, it's not the cheapest.
Been looking around (within reputable companies/sites) for Ryzen 5 5600x, most places are out of stock, pre-order or price is well above $500.
You can also go directly to Harris Technology website and order from there too but, they charged postage for me.

    msrp is $469 just FYI.

    • Yeah I know. I was about to buy it at $465 2 days ago but didn't. When I looked again yesterday and today there was hardly any stock. Where there is stock it was way above $500. I am also impatient and have all the parts I need for a new build except for the CPU :(

      • oh dam :( I was lucky and decided to just bite the bullet and ordered one on sunday.

        • Nice! So the early birds do get the worm :)

  • +1

The RRP has been moved up by most retailers to $499 now :(

    • Wtf. For a second I thought it was $70 off RRP untill I read your comment.

    • +1

I thought RRP was set by the "manufacturer" (or brand owner if they use an OEM)?

      • There are a few videos on YouTube stating AMD has increased them because Intel is hardly getting any sales.

  • +3

Great, I am going Intel. Never thought one day I will say this……………

    • +1

Tables have turned. Intel's now the budget alternative.

    • +1

There was an Intel i9-10900F (10 core) for $552 the other day. And a i7-10700F (8 core) for $440. Some great prices.

      • Got i7-10700F for $383 and a Gigabyte Z490M Gaming x for $183 in recent sales. Can't go wrong at this price.

      • bruh this comes with a cooler and it competes against a i7-10700k, the only downside it can't multitask as good as the i7. The i7-10700F is locked potato for gaming.

  • +1

Hahahahah LOL, unbelievable how stores are desperate to rob people pocket!

  • +10

This isn't a deal OP, even at $469 (MSRP) it wouldn't be.

  • Quite disappointing… no offence OP

    • +2

Yeah not proud of my purchase or post but, after looking around for that last 2 days for reputable site that has stock has been painful so, when I found one that had stock thought I post so others didn't have to go through the same pain.

  • Too many dollars.

  • +12

I remember, back in the day when a bargain was less than RRP.

    • LOL good one mate!

  • 5600x 499 no
    10700kf 404(recently deal)

  • +1

Just got one from msy ebay account for 465ish with the 15 percent discount it was running.

    • Can you share the link please, and the code of the 15%

    • What, was that posted on here?

  • Jesus, just checked PC part picker…. can’t believe my eyes.

  • Fancy spending $200 plus more than a 3600

    • its like 300 bucks better then the 3600 but 200 will do…

  • -2

    AMD ! No No No

    It is always PPT

No stock for 6800, no stock for 5900xt

  • Crap price / retail price, not sure why this was posted.

    • +1

Yeah, not the greatest but, it's the only reputable site I found that had stock and not well over $500. I spent a few days painfully searching (to finish off a new pc build), posting it in hope someone might find it useful, so they don't have to go through the same pain of searching.

  • I'm looking to build my first PC mainly for MSFS2020 and other simulation games, and was thinking this was the card to go for - but with all the negs now I'm not so sure. What's the best bang-for-buck card around the $400 (or less) mark?

    • It's a CPU…. Not a graphics card

      • Sorry, I meant CPU.

        • CPU… tricky.
Ryzen 3000 CPU's were pretty great, but with the price hike and the removal of included heatsinks on everything above the 5600X, combined with Intel dropping prices to remain competitive there are some pretty well priced i5's getting around.

I personally recently transitioned from Intel to AMD but have not affinity for either.
Each have some benefits and disadvantages but currently it's a fairly level field for 8 cores or less.

At around $360 the i5 - 10600KF sits a bit behind the 5600X on performance, but given the price gap it's a pretty good option.
That said however if you find a good deal on a B550 motherboard you might end up with more money to put toward the 5600X and pickup PCIe4 as well.
Also the 5600X (but not higher models) includes a cooler where as the intel K SKUs don't.

Smart money says wait for an AMD 5600 non X version.

    • Cards are a dodgy situation right now.
If you're driving anything more than 1080p it's probably worth waiting a few months for the dust to settle.
Otherwise grab you preferred flavor 3070 or 3080 as they become available.

  • not a deal, it's currently in stock elsewhere at rrp

edit: nvm bought the last one at umart

  • -2

That is disgusting, so ou have a rrp of 470 and then it even goes up to 500, good job AMD

    • +1

      Plus postage lol.

  • you got ripped

    • +1

Maybe, depends on your view of how much your time is worth to you.

  • +1

Looks like I'm back to Intel.

    • Yeah I would have followed you down this path, unfortunately I had all other parts ready for this AMD.

  • I'm looking to upgrade my 7700K to this, but no way I'm paying over the RRP. Not a Deal.

  • +1

A lot of sellers in the last few days have upped the price to $499 or higher, have seen couple stores still at the lower price but they are not letting you order the CPU unless you purchase a motherboard at same time !
PLE are still at $469 to order but who knows when they'll get more stock in.

  • My order from before this deal got posted was just cancelled because they didn't report that they were out of stock.

Mega pissed because I cancelled an Amazon order to buy from here and now everywhere is out of stock with no etas for resupply.

  • How is Intel now the best budget alternative?

    • I think in this context, its better alternative right now due to availability.
