    Some people say this, but I find no evidence that it matters.
    I started with pre-ground, and found when I opened a new pack, it tasted better than the last of the old pack, presumable loss of aromatics.
    So I got a grinder, stored my beans properly, and have not noticed a problem since.

    No doubt, but….

    1) this is $15, a local roaster will start at $40.

    2) unless you consume the coffee beans quickly, any benefit derived from buying locally roasted (fresher) beans quickly diminishes.

    I used to roast my own beans, I used to buy local, now I just buy aldi single origin.
