Seems like a reasonable price if you don't want the flymore combo, Mini 1 batteries also work well so you can use those if you have them.

  • Any deals on the combo ?

  • serious question. why people getting the combo? i heard long time ago it may be a good options but now there are many 3rd party batteries and charger we can buy.
do people really using the stuffs from fly more combo pack?

    • I don't think there are 3rd party batteries for the mini 2. I just quickly google searched for 3rd party batteries for the original mavic mini and I don't think they exist. I could be wrong though

From what I've read you want the genuine batteries, especially as you don't want something to happen to your drone while flying over water/mountains etc.

      • There's no aftermarket batteries for the Mini1 or Mini 2 as they incorporate encryption. Even attempts to modify the old Mini 1 batteries which used regular 18650s (i.e. people attempting to upgrade their capacity) resulted in the batteries circuitry bricking itself if a power loss occurs. Thats how secure they are.

For people who like to fly batteries in quick succession the FMC is the way to go but if you just want to fly sporadically you can get by on one battery and just carry a cheap $30ish 20,000-30,000mah powerbank to charge it inbetween. Batteries will charge 200-300 times at least if you take care of them.

And if you have or can obtain old Mini 1 batteries (e.g. gumtree) then you have your spare batteries. I use both types and honestly struggle to tell them apart. One reviewer did a comparison and found little difference in performance between the two

        • I see. Thanks.. so basically get second hand battery and a powerbank, instead of flymore pack is end up cheaper

    • By the time you add extra genuine batteries, extra external charger and the larger bag to accommodate it all, it works out cheaper to go the combo.

Honestly.. the batteries are "intelligent" and have their own processor inside them to manage how much juice is left - it will work with the drone to determine when it comes home because there's not enough power left. You don't want to rely on some non-genuine battery when the drone is 2km away from you.

Mind you.. the older models had bigger differences between the Flymore and Stand alone (eg. Missing the controller). The gap between the stand alone and flymore packs are getting smaller these days so you can probably get away with stand alone as a starter kit and then grab the other accessories when it is on special.

Seems like a good price. Interesting comment about using batteries from the (original) Mavic Mini:

Are the batteries of DJI Mini 2 and Mavic Mini interchangeable?
No. Mavic Mini will not function with the battery of DJI Mini 2. Although the international version of DJI Mini 2 can use Mavic Mini’s battery, the power will decrease and the total weight will exceed 250 g, requiring registration in some countries and regions. Please check local rules and regulations before use.

  • Wow I must be behind. When did Mini2 come out? I thought Mini1 was only like 12months old.
