  • Hellooooo Nurse… Worth it just to catch the Animaniacs reboot.

    • It’s going to be on binge :)

  • I can't finish the account setup since I don't have amx card, any work around? Or anybody willing to share with me

    • Get US paypal account and you can add any Aussie CC to that :)

      • Ohh, I remember putting my card details but PayPal was also asking for us bank card details, it's been almost 2 years since I tried so let me have a go at it

Hulu with commercials is Unbearable, get the ad free plan.

    • Alternatively if you are watching on your computer (and only on your PC as it does not work on my Android phone nor Shield TV - as Android only allows one VPN at a time), you can use AD Guard which has successfully been blocking ads on Hulu for me this past year. Note: The screen will go blank for a second or two as it still switches to try and play the ad.

I find the US ads interesting (in moderation). Like the bizarre drug ones for some obscure condition, then a huge disclaimer at the end with all the terrible possible side effects. Bad enough for doctors when patients do their own googling, but to have it thrust at you on tv is crazy.

One good thing about it is you can pause the sub for up to 12 weeks.

  • Still need VPN to watch after joining right?

      DNS proxy is enough

Getflix DNS was all I needed

  • Is HBO Max also joinable? Gotta get ready for the Snyder Cut and other DC shows.

  • How is everyone setting up a US paypal account without a US phone number? Very first step asks for a US mobile number, if I give an Australian number next step only accepts an Australian address.

    • there should be a "skip" button somewhere on that page. or use a random US number and skip verification.

      • No skip button that I could find. Also tried a few free random US phone number generators and a paid App version but PayPal rejects it saying can't use Voip numbers.

Got a refund on the App so all good, but can anyone recommend a US phone number generator that works for PayPal?

        • can't you use some random US shop's phone? e.g. maccas or something?

          • @FeZZa21: You can't, phone number is so they can send you a 6 digit code to confirm your number.

Might have to try Gift cards, but not sure if that method still works or better yet stick to using Kodi :)

  • Have had 2 hulu accounts over the years with no issues. But my au card linked to my US PayPal just expired. Added the new card but now hulu keeps saying you are intelligible for the offer. Even tried with a new hulu act.
    Any suggestions?

I seem to have the same problem - anyone work around this?

I've had two accounts for the past 10 or more years without any issues, this time round whatever I try doesn't seem to work.

      • Tried linking 2 other cards with US PayPal but no luck. :(
No I feel even my existing hulu act will stop as next month payment may not go thru.

Is it the same card number that you tried to use with a new expiry date, or a whole new card/number you tried changing/adding?

      • Just new expiry date.

      • I also tried adding a diff card too but no luck.

        • Darn, that is no good. I wonder if that means when it's time to update my expiry date if the same thing will happen. Did you update the date before the card expired, or after?

So I take it you never got the offer. I wonder if payment goes through if you just choose the $5.99 a month plan?

          • @Ice009: Sorry just saw your msg.
I did get the email offer. The card was expiring this month and it asked me to update it (I assume as the next bling date was after the expiry.)

  • For those trying to sub to the $1.99 offer with an old account, I had no luck like everyone else. Theory is that both my old and current accounts have the same CC details (Australian AMEX) and they can now detect this.

I chose to cancel my current account that was due to change from $1.99 to $5.99 per month, and choose "too expensive" as the reason. They then offered me a month free then $1.99 after that. Sold!

It says it's going to charge my card $5.99 on 4 January 2021. If it does I'll cancel again.

Thanks to this post at Reddit for the idea:

    • had the same not eligible issue when trying this on an old hulu account. I had used US paypal previously on that old hulu account, and it wouldn't work with the same paypal any more so used my Amex directly and it went through. Went back into my hulu account and updated my payment from Amex to my US paypal account that I used previously and it updated it correctly. So in the end, this comes down to US$1.82/month for 12 months since the 1st month is free and US$1.99 for the 11 months after the trial month.
