  • This or the Dell S2721DGF?

    • +5

At half this price, it had to be Dell. Genuinely bought 3, they're excellent.

    • +1

      The Dell, hands down.

      Got one, love it.

Its also 165hz using DP cable too.

    • +4

One niche use case is that the LG supports 4k signals and displays it at 2k. This is relevant for PS5 as it does not support 2k natively so your games are either in 1080p or 4k. With the Dell, your games will look worse as displaying 1080p on a 2k monitor doesn't look as crisp.

      • +3

I will add to this that the dell does not have a srgb mode wide gamut only! so if your use to a proper calibrated screen the over saturation of your reds is very annoying. LG has SRGB mode.

      • +1

i did not know it could do this. Does it do it by default or is it a setting in the OSD?

This could be useful, though I'd rather have native 1440p support because you'd get better framerates than at 4K.

        • Automatically, my benq mobiuz does that too

    • Review of these monitors from Hardware Unboxed:

      Dell S2721DGF https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3vbqyjgPpY

The S2721DGF is currently $639.20 from Dell and that's before applying any other deals.

      • +1

Yes but the Dell has 40 day delivery time. Not even in time for Christmas.

    • this has better color gamut. The only good gamut Dell monitors are the Ultrasharp series and those aren't for gaming.

  • Amazon is matching everyone!

so essentially 599 with the zippay cashback, how does that work? you just use your zip pay account to pay?

    • +1

so essentially 599 with the zippay cashback

      yup

you just use your zip pay account to pay?

yup, pay with zip and they'll credit your zip account with $50 after taking payment

        thanks for the reply

  • Is Dell S2721DGF Gsync compatible?

    • Yes

    • Yes, it supports both G-sync and Freesync Premium Pro

    • 40 day delivery time on the web site for the Dell.

  • Probably wait for monitor that is HDMI 2.1 compliant, to be able to fully utilize Xbox SX/ PS5.

    • +2

      this is 2K monitor.
i dont think it need HDMI 2.1

you need aim on 4K Monitor with 144hz which need HDMI 2.1

      • +1

But let's not kid ourselves, next Gen will never hit 4k 120hz.. :(

  • Can you use a monitor arm with this display?

    • +3

      Yes, it's got a 100x100 VESA mount

      • Thanks ;) I was looking at the specs on LG's website LG 27" QHD Monitor 27GL850-B and completely missed the word VESA

        • +1

Can confirm. Mine is currently mounted :D

  • +2

I'm looking at this post on literally this monitor. Great purchase.

  • Would it be overkill to have 2 side by side?

    • +1

Also contemplating this lol. But depends on how you use it. If you're gonna game with both then buy it. Or if you care about the aesthetics of two different brands… or colour differences between brands then buy it.
But if you wanna save money and using the monitor for work/as a reference monitor then better off getting a cheapo monitor cause you don't need to pay the extra for the 144Hz.

      • That last point is a good case

    • I've said it a million times, but there is no point getting two monitors of the same spec unless you want both of them to do the same thing at the same time.

  • Whats the warranty on this?

  • +1

Bought one to match our existing pandemic-home-office one and replace a 13-year-old 1080p secondary monitor. (The pandemic home office also has a gaming chair.)

  • +1

Anyone have this and the S2721DGF side by side. Would be nice comparison :)

  • Anyone be ever gone from an Acer xb271hu to this or the Dell? Any opinions?

  • +1
