If you got a machine like this for VR, I think you will be a bit disappointed
GPU performance will be more important then CPU
Aim for a 1660 in a laptop or better
Partially agree. I have a Dell Inspiron 7577 with a 6GB GTX 1060 Max-Q. I've plugged it into my VR headset (Oculus Quest 2) to play Star Wars: Squadrons and find it very playable with the graphics on medium/low settings. The immersion is a decent trade-off for not being able to see (for example) the scuff-marks on your gloves.
Cheap!
But this Acer nitro 5 from HN better value.

Is it easy to increase the storage on this for a non-tech minded?
Here's a video of what I think is the same laptop being disassembled. It shows how to remove the bottom cover @7minutes. And m2 ssd being removed @8.48
Lastly theres a 2.5" ssd/hdd bay which in the video is populated. The one in op might not. If this was the case then you can put an ssd here.
If however there is no spot for a2.5" ssd. Then you would have to replace the m.2 drive instead with a higher capacity one. Which will be more involved.
Dell website says it’s 250nits display not 300nits! Definitely get the Acer nitro- link above
Great laptop, last time I got this as the same time with 512gb storage
This year round the Acer nitro is the bettter deal though but the dell g3 now has a slightly better 300nits screen and next gen cpu
Go to coles buy the gift card have 15% off. On hand around 760 dollar.
Tried 3 different coles stores and could not get any gift cards. :/

Can this do Oculus Link? I found this link: https://support.oculus.com/444256562873335/. It says card is not currently supported. What about the CPU? I haven’t been in touch with Intel procs. Thanks!
