Renowned Noctua quality backed up by 6-year manufacturer’s warranty, deluxe choice for AMD Ryzen CPUs & APUs with moderate heat load (e.g. 3700X, 3600, 3400G, 3300X, see compatibility list)
Possibly, depending on what you deem reasonable: https://youtu.be/2Ir1Wvcypic
You can check compatibility chart from Noctua website. they don't have it yet, but assume 5950x is similar to 3950x, then just check out the chart

- Possible but sustained clock speed will be below base clock.
I'd say no on stock settings and most definitely not with PBO.
If you undervolt or set power limits then it should be fine.
Hi All,
Can somebody please recommend what would be the suitable Noctua Cooler for 3900XT?I am keen on NH-D15 but its really big… and may cause issue with RAM clearance
(I have 4x 8GB Crucial Ballistics 3600 RAMs on a Meshify C case/MSI B450 AC Carbon)Wondering if NH-U12S would be powerful enough to keep 3900XT cool?
Or better alternatives? I am not keen on trying other brand at the moment, maybe BeQuiet but preferring Noctua for the easy installation…Thanks heaps
im pretty sure the D15 would be fine. Worst case you just remove the fan above the ram slots (or mount it higher) to effectively make it a D15S
see here, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/crucial-ballis…
Maybe consider BeQuiet Dark rock Pro series??
Alternatively I fitted this Scythe to my bros 3700x and its pretty good. Might be an issue with your quad channel memory though but worth investigating given its price point vs the Noctua offerings
also, u12s should be plenty (I believe the u12 has a 140W TDP which is higher than the 3900x/t
If you are concerned about clearance maybe an AIO?
This doesn't win any points in the looks department but a solid Contender against the noctua.
Liquid freezer ii
Check out gamers nexus YouTube review of it.
From my research the 280 provides similar results to the noctua and the 360 or 420 provides better cooling.
Caveat being the noctua caps at like 35dB and the liquid cooler will be louder to achieve the higher cooling range.
Also it ain't pretty imo and more parts to fail over a fan cooler.
From review: "Dang this thing can't even cool a ryzen 3600 at stock speeds. If I try a burn in test it jumps immediately to 80 C.
Overall Review: I really expected it to perform better than a stock cooler but it doesn't"So basically useless?
It's basically the best SFFPC cooler around… Not entirely useless. Its a niche item.
$72.86 shipped from amazon for the normal version
Suitable to cool a 5950x?
