Hey everyone,

This camera is a steal at $1349, has been around the ~$1650ish mark for a long time. This is almost the lowest ever price it has been (was $1347.05 for a day in June).

It is an older camera, coming out in 2018 - however Panasonic has released firmware this year that makes this camera supremely good for 4k video and filming. If you have been after a 4k filming camera, check out Youtube for reviews - it is praised for features and quality.

Unfortunately Shopback and Cashrewards gives 0.00% on the Camera category.

P.s. First deal posting so don't be too hard on my formatting, let me know and I can try to format this post correctly if it isn't.

Fantastic camera. I own 3. Priced at 1350 its a steal. For video has 30 min recording limit and 10mins in 50 and 60 fps. Records 10bit 150mbps max. Vlog L profile is a paid upgrade - usually around $140

    • I wonder why the g85 has unlimited recording but the g9 doesn't

      • Even the GX85 has unlimited recording. And that's a few hundred cheaper than the G85 often

      • This is because once a camera records past 30 minutes, it is considered a video camera and has higher tax laws applicable in Europe. Can't explain why some cameras here have limit and some do not.
There is a hack to remove 30 min limit on most cameras, detailed on You Tube and camera forums.

Fantastic camera at a fantastic price. I've had one for about 9 months now and could not be happier with it.

  • this time last year there was some great deals on this and the g85. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/501895

I agree, since the G9 update. It is one of the best all-rounders on the market to date.

    ・4K 30p/25p 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording is supported.

    ・4K 60p/50p 4:2:2 10-bit HDMI output is supported.

・Luminance level for 10-bit video is supported.

・VFR (Variable Frame Rate) shooting is supported (FHD 2-180 fps/4K 2-60 fps).

    ・HDR video recording is supported.

・V-Log L recording and Waveform Monitor (WFM) are available with the Upgrade Software Key DMW-SFU1 (sold separately).

with some features outclassing the gh5. improved stabilisation system, High Resolution Mode, can shoot up to 20fps with continuous autofocus and AE, and up to 60fps with the focus locked on the first frame, top LCD screen..

They're a robust construction too and known to have great full weather sealing.

  • There are only two downsides of this camera:
    1. The dynamic range isn't that great, but that is to be expected on a m4/3 sensor.
    2. For video work, it doesn't stabilize super wide lenses very well. Anything wider than 12mm, it starts to have a warpy effect when trying to stabilize. This can sometimes be
    fixed in Post.

Everything else about this camera is fantastic

  • I had a gh5 for hybrid shooting, was absolutely fantastic. If you don't need unlimited record time, I cant see why you wouldn't buy this over a gh5, especially at the price. Total steal.

  • Not even close to the historic lowest? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/501895 unless there's a new sub-model of the g9 Im not aware of

I had this camera for a while - it is a fantastic camera, but huge, HUGE, huge being the major issue.

This was $1339.00 on Amazon Prime Day (Oct 14 only).
This does not display on Camel x 3 as the price only reduced once the cart page was displayed.
    Great price.
