Normally $280 with discounts hovering around $220 from Appliances Online or $210 on eBay, this is the best deal I have seen for it.

Thank you
Can anyone who's used both comment on how this one is different to soda stream/king?
Is it worth the premium over a $70 Sodastream?
Just read a comparison and the soda stream wins, the Aarke is more expensive as its made out of stainless steel.
The Aarke is better built and looks a lot better than the SodaStream. However it's completely manual and does not come with an gas cylinder.
I personally went for the powered SodaStream like this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/580387
It's manual to control how much gas you prefer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLyaTSRoQkg (@26s). Haven't used a Sodastream so can't comment if it does the same.
would like to know too. Can this be used to make tonic water for Gin and Tonic? W
If you have tonic syrup it could. Or you can use it for gin and soda.
Yes, it makes soda water, so if you want tonic water, you just add the tonic syrup……then use it like regular tonic water.
Thanks. I've been researching and came across this post from the past

It's more cheaper just to buy the bottled soda water from Woolies
@Homr: Yep, sounds about right.
At home soda makers are more about convenience rather than cost savings.
@Homr: Sodastream run the printer cartridge business model. they made a proprietary connection and charge too much for their own brand of gas cylinfers. If you buy a conversion kit and a large CO2 cannister from your local gas supplier, and just refill the cannister every couple of years, it ends up a fair bit cheaper than if you're buying sodastream's cans.
Sodastream tonic syrup is really good, on par with Schweppes tonic.
We use it exclusively, love the manual control, but I still wouldn't buy one at this price. I got it as a gift from my mum, it is shiny gold and looks horrid to me.
Soda water isn't mineral water, but I get your point. I think the Coles mineral water is better in taste and the bottles feel more substantial than the flimsy Woolies ones.
same price for mineral water :) https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/799638/woo…
That's about 6mth of supply in my household and our Sodastream is 5 years old so what's your point?
More directed at the aarke mate, your still buying/swapping for refills. The fact you don’t even get a cylinder with this is a real fu
I think there is some extra maintenance with this compared to sodastream. Something to do with the O-ring inside, can't recall. Worth checking before buying depending on your needs
I got this because I didn’t want to have to another thing in the kitchen that needed a power point.. it’s been great and looks awesome.
I have this in black and love it. Matches well with everything else in the kitchen.
