This build has been posted here before ($2299 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/575552, $2429 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/553704 but 120Hz) with lots of good discussion. You'll need to use PTETE15 to get this price.

If a GTX1650 suits your needs, you can save yourself $450 with this one: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Asus-ROG-Zephyrus-G14-GA401II-La… (refurb, 12 month warranty). Requires eBay plus - PLUSBF20. Performance-wise the 1660 seems to get you about 30-40% more FPS on average according to these guys: https://www.laptopmag.com/au/features/nvidia-gtx-1660-ti-vs-…

The laptops seem to hold their value well at these prices - a few used laptops on eBay have been selling for about 80%-90% of this price. Reviews of the G14 are generally very good.

  • Really don't understand the 1440p 60hz screen decision by Asus on this one. Screen is so small I feel like most wouldn't notice the difference. 1080p 120hz screen like on the 1650ti model would have been sweet

  • its not brand new

    • +1

Thanks for catching that - had the wrong link in there. The G14 1660TI is new, the G14 1650 is a refurb, and the deal link is now fixed.

  • Noice. Me got the desktop version more or less.

  • I have been on the hunt for the 2060 version for months but boy is it difficult to find

    • Yeah it mostly seems to be “ship from the US”. Performance wise, the GPU performs a similarly to the 2060 and with an external monitor I didn’t care about the higher refresh on the screen.

      • Yeah which I'm hesitant to do for many reasons haha I know pbtech has it for $3K in NZ… I feel like the 2060 and ryzen 9 would stay relevant for longer, so I've been holding out for deals… Given I probably wouldn't buy another laptop for years
