Evekare Bidet Toilet Seat with Wireless Remote Control $319 @ Bunnings

150

Yeah another bidet deal, I am keeping a price check on these to replace the sh!tty Xiaomi bidet which crapped out on me. It was $399 then $499 now it down to $319. Easy to install, all parts included, just need a power point nearby (can be left or right sided), water on the left when looking to the wall..
I know most of you just here for the jokes so let me start.. "Only a$$hole use bidet"..

I've always wondered, who has an electrical socket near their toilet?

    • +1

      new builds.

      • yeah valid point.

    • Alot of new house have, as aging population increase its there for mobility purpose. Its on opposite side of tap and certain height above ground to be compliant, as was told by one of the sparkies who put one in for me.

    • 126.5 million people on an archipelago off the coast of China

      • +1

Nah, they're built into the wall.

        • Ah cool, water damage never happens behind bathroom walls

    • My current house has one, it was built in the 70s

    Wireless Remote Control

    Perfect for pranking visitors?

    • IR unfortunately, unless door open.

      • Hide in the bathtub or shower stall … Personal boundaries shmoundaries … all is fair when it comes to practical jokes.

Wish I could silence the beeping, not ideal at night.
(once it's out of warranty I'll try to sort it)
For blokes who sit a bit upright, might need to watch the urine doesn't sneak under the seat, it sits quite raised on the lugs, you wife will NOT be happy.
Otherwise well worth it, might not fit on a small toilet, so check your toilet dimensions.

    • -1

might not fit on a small toilet

      The bidet seat or you?

      • +2

Both, which raises another point. If you're quite heavy keep in mind the seat's flat surface area is lower than some normal seats, so can be a bit of pressure for those of us 100kg+
        Still worth it though.

        • -2

          the seat's flat surface area

The seat or your arse? ;)

    • All good info.. Thank you
Can I ask, why does it beep in the first place ?

      • +3

        press remote it goes beep.

      • +2

It beeps when it detects you sitting on it (the water warming functions etc begin)
It beeps for, every, single, button, press, on, the, remote!
You might adjust forward position twice, water pressure once, temperature, also start, stop and dry.

  • I got a Panasonic one and had no problems. Been 8 years now. Got a sparky to install a socket in the toilet. Love it.

    • Where did you buy a panasonic one from ?

      • Panasonic

  • +1

    Off yahoo Japan

  • Needed a step down from 240v to 100v though as well

    • +1

I figured as much and I am guessing the labels were in Japanese ? Available on Ebay as well, shipped from Japan. Those units are the most reliable but none are made for the international market, which is a pity.

    • +1

And he mention 8 yrs ago, probably back then the only place you can get one is japan

I bought 3 bidets recently, one from Bunnings, one from Kogan and one from Ebay
The one on eBay is the best value for money at only $233. It doesn't come with a remote but does the job.

The Kogan one is best looking at $309 with a free trial of Kogan First

This Bunnings one is crap. Most expensive and most uncomfortable to sit on so i just return it.

    • Thanks for the reviews. I've been waiting on gearbite to get the Xiaomi whale spout with a wall panel, but your words on the Kogan one are promising. Anything not good about it?

      • The only thing I find annoying is that the water intake is on the left side of the toilet and all my toilet outlet is on the right side of the toilet for some reason.

But then that is the same for all three bidets so it is not an isolated problem for the Kogan one.

The LED display does take quite a bit of space which make the actual seat a bit smaller than the other 2 but I manage. The Kogan one is the only one with an LED light like the Xiaomi whale sprout that makes your toilet look literally lit.

        • The only thing I find annoying is that the water intake is on the left side of the toilet and all my toilet outlet is on the right side of the toilet for some reason.

did you need to buy extension hose?

          • @PissLUR: No, both the eBay and Kogan one comes with a 1m long plastic tube so I didn't need an extension hose for them.

The Evekare only comes with a very short 20cm one so you would probably need an extension.

        • Thanks. I've built the house and specifically put the water on the left and power on the right (facing the toilet) as I checked a heap of models and they all had this layout. And since the toilet is back to walk I can't route any pipes or cables behind it.

For size of seat, will see what measurements I can find to compare actual seat size.

Do you have a photo of how the kogan one looks installed? The whale spout one gets reviews that it actually looks funny on the toilet as it's quite long unless you have the correct size toilet.

          • @kulprit: I had the Kogan one install but I took it off as I bought it for my new home which is not yet finished. I should have done research like you but I told my builder I intent on putting bidet on the toilet and thought they would have known where to put the connection but I guess they were lazy and just put it on the same side.

My current home only has one toilet with an electrical outlet nearby so I decided to put fit all three of the new house with Kogan bidet and keep the eBay one for the current home.

As for back to the wall toilet the plastic hose are very small and can be passed through the gap between the seat and the water tank.

Here is a picture of my current set up.

Also if you have ebay the model is part of the current 20% off coupon

      • ebay plus?

    • Awesome info!
Are these the photos of the ebay toilet you're sharing?

Any chance you can lift all the toilet seat up?
Curious on the topview shape of your toilet bowl?

      Many thanks

  • considering getting one of those 'non electrical' ones…. anyone have one to comment?

    something like this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cefito-Non-Electric-Bidet-Toilet…

    • very cold especially in winter.

      • Even is QLD? Wow.

    • These are meant to be good for non electric

      https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00P2XZIP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f…

    • We have two and had another in an older rental. The kraftig branded ones are excellent imho. Brass fittings so they last longer. Paid around $30 for the kraftig (fits under a toilet seat) and $50 for a cefito. Cefito is good too. It is coldish in winter but way better than a basic hose bidet!

  • i have the water inlet on the right hand side (facing the wall). would it be possible to buy an extended long flexi hose?

    • If you toilet have a pass through some toilet are "back to wall" which have no space behind to pass the hose through. it came with an extension hose (20cm i think).

    • +1

      You get at Bunnings

  • These have a 3 year warranty compared to others 1 year. Make sure you measure your toilet seating area and compare as it doesn't fit all toilet bowls. Don't expect any of these Bidets to actually dry your butt in a short time, just think of how older hand dryers work in public toilets, takes time. Don't forget to take your phone (camera) with you to catch that look on your face the first time you use it.

    • +3

The one I got dry me in about 2-3 minutes but I have been sitting in there the last couple of hours, what difference will 3 minutes make…

  • +1

    This or waterpik?

    • +2

Well waterpik doubles as a flosser

But you could probably do the same with a bidet, if you aim correctly

    • +2

lmao a Waterpik would probably penetrate into your intestine.

  • They changed the brand name. Used to be called D'lucci. Exact same toilet and remote. Price was $399 too. So it's come down in price. Wonder why the change in brand…hope not to evade warranty claims…

    • +1

The name in line with other mobility products also the evekare brand (eg walking frame etc). During covid D’luci was $399 (out of stock) and evekare was $499 (in stock). So i am guessing raising the price that way look less suspicious. Cant see how they can circumvent warranty as they both carry 3 years warranty. Beside never had any issues with bunnings warranties.

  • Are there regulations about how to install these ie do they need a valve to stop back flow and if so is it included ?
