  • Price in title please, also is there any evidence these filters actually improve performance ?

There are YouTube videos from owners claiming it makes a somewhat noticeable difference in acceleration, but mostly more an increase in induction noise. My paper filter is due for replacement, and since this is a washable filter it's a no brainer for me.

    • Yes, however may come at the expense of letting in more fine particles, which some seasoned petrol heads have pinpointed to causing the premature wear they see when doing rebuilds.

    • Yes but not as much as when the eurobeat intensifies.

Time to sell the 86/brz and start saving for the new one ;-)

    • I am not a fan of the rear of the new model, but otherwise it's a solid upgrade, with the 2.4L boxer and handling improvements.

I've tried the K & N air filters in 2 different vehicles and couldn't tell the difference between using the K & N and a bog standard OEM filter. YMMV

    Same power and fuel usage.

I removed them and went back to OEM because I got too lazy to clean the K & N filters.

The K & N Filter was 4 times the cost of an OEM filter.

    • Interesting, any difference in induction sound?

      • +1

The only reason you get a K&N is for the branding and induction sound.

brand and induction sound have the same thing in common… they both succ

A little more induction noise but I was listening for it, no one else appeared to notice it unless I mentioned it.

All these do is spray your intake and MAF sensor with oil, and let fine dust into your engine.

It is a lower grade filter compared to OEM ie it filters less so why would you want to put it in an engine.

Old carburetor engines could handle the extra dirt and needed more air.

Newer ones don't have this capacity.

Have been using K&N filter since my first Mirage in 94.
