Also Black Friday is around the corner.

Lowest price ever according to Camelcamel (US).
(Slightly cheaper per brush than the 6-pack)

  • Natural Pumice Stone with Handle
  • Safe for Porcelain

Have been watching the price of this for awhile.
Great reviews.
Apparently with minimal scrubbing can remove those tough stains, which your toilet brush + chemicals fails to remove.

Tip:

For those interested in trying a cheaper option first, try Citric Acid in powder form.
Flush toilet, while bowl is wet spread Citric Acid Powder evenly on bowl. Leave for 30-60 mins, scrub with toilet brush and flush.
Worth a try.

I always admire those who can blow smoke-ring. Today I'll bow and call Master to those who produces toilet bowl ring.

    • Can be any tough stain really. I just copy pasted the Amazon title.

    … does it hurt ???

  • What kind of life does the OP have to be waiting for the price of a toilet cleaner to drop.

    Hope you enjoy it.

      Thanks.

This is one of those “if all else fails” options.
I thought others may be in the same boat and thought to share.

    • life is pretty shit these days

$4.29 - made of the same stuff and will do the same job, no?

I considered, there are a few cheaper options on eBay as well that look the same.
But since you want to keep the Porcelain / ceramic coating safe I thought it is safer to go with Pumie which gets great reviews (and well known product in US apparently).
(If the stone is bad quality, you need to do more scrubbing. If you do too much damage, the surface become pouros and then stains will be permanent)
(new toilet will cost much much much more)

I also suggested a cheaper option to try at the bottom of description.
      It’s up to you.

  • Ok guys, I have used steel wool by hand and failed to remove the toilet ring at my place. I blame multivitamins and a "yellow let it mellow" after midnight policy.

Steel wool inferior to citric acid or this product?

Or if steel wool has failed should I go for some kind of descaler from the hardware shop?

    • Steel wool (the fine type) is very abrasive and will damage your toilet bowl. Making future stains permanent. You may have gone past the point of return.

While I think any ‘miracle product’ is suspicious, I think Pumie is just the best you can get before damaging your bowl.

      • Thanks for info. Yes it was the fine type.

I think the toilet in this rental is approaching 20 years old (not that I'm an expert) and I am on the receiving end of any damage to the porcelain. I only used steel wool 1 time.

I think I'll get the CLR as recommended below, and then consider my options.

        Peeing in the backyard perhaps…

Just to be clear, the toilet in question just has a few light stains which refuse to remove.
Although the reviews are great, if anyone’s toilet looks like a black-hole I think they are expecting too much from the Pumie.

Basically, you want to be doing minimal scrubbing of the toilet bowl to protect it.

    • Pouring in a bunch of bleach and letting it sit overnight always fixed it for me.

      • Yep works for me too, dont need any fancy brush or cleaners.

CLR will get rid of any built up. Just need to let it sit for couple of hours.

    • Since I know that name I realise I might pay a premium for advertising. Is there an equivalent no name product? Super not-handyman asking questions. I know.

    • CLR = Calcium, Lime, & Rust Remover.

      Thanks for sharing.

    • There's also a Reject Shop equivalent which I have used (if it's in stock). It costs about half the price of CLR and seems to work quite well. The toilet in my rental had a severe buildup of scale/calcium and it's reduced it to the back of the U bend - I left it for about 12 hours.

  • my weekly or forthnightly task, spray with Force mould cleaner from Aldi, or Exit mould then wait 5 minutes, tadaaaaa your toilet is clear.
    then brush your toilet.

    • Thanks for sharing. Yes good maintenance will probably prevent stains.

so far CLR has been the best with minimum elbow grease. If there is a very thick build up at the bottom, just remove as much of water from the bottom. You can also soak up water by using an old towel if you have one lying around. Just leave the CLR in there overnight and next morning use toilet brush to rub it out, it will be all gone. For under rim build up just place toilet paper around the rim and spray with CLR and let it sit there. Has always worked for me.

    • Good tips. I was just thinking to empty the water more easily you could perhaps turn the tap to the cistern off and flush until it’s fairly empty already

      • except that will empty the cistern, but on most toilets will just fill the U/S bend - few here have a syphon type flush

      • You need to dry out the toilet not the cistern. Turning off the tap and flushing will only empty Cistern as rhino015 mentioned.
