  • If your closer to officeworks than DSE they will pricematch, they pricematched LTS price when they used to sell these (ended up $47 at the time)

this KB is good for around $50, only dissapointment for me was 3 colour LED for KB (red/blue/purple and steps in between) and it changes all keys that colour, I turn it off more than I use it. The logitech software for managing macros is also not that good (very clunky compared to others).

but for $50, well worth the purchase.

mechanical keyboards shit all over this.

not sure where I can get a mechanical kb for $50 but your point is valid.

    • Well yeah, the Razer Blackwidow that can be had for ~100 bucks would be very nice, but double the price for a keyboard may not be justifiable.

my keyboards attract too many coffees/scotches/beers :(

      • Bought my blackwidow ultimate for $150. A rip off but it's such a gorgeous keyboard :3

Good deal..iirc Logitec shop or logitec ebay were doing them for this price or less a while ago. Good keyboard IMO for the price. Bought a 2nd one after the first pinched my coffee :(

  • I have this, great keyboard, makes gaming easy if you prefer doing that in the dark.

Picked up this baby along with a nice staff discount.

Beautiful value and perfect for casual-ish gamers who require a few extra macro keys for RPGs, RTS and back-lighting for those marathon sessions.

As has been mentioned you can only choose back-lighting colours in between Red and Blue (think of the colour spectrum starting at red at going backwards to blue, not to orange and yellow) as each key uses tri-colour LEDs.
Red stands out as the strongest and most uniform colour, whereas Blue lighting seems to be slightly diluted and not have as "even coverage" in terms of brightness on the keys (some keys seem to be dimmer than others).
Purple and Pink are distinguishable enough that you notice them as separate colours but they tend to blend together a lot.

In all honesty though, do you need back-lighting capable of reproducing 256 individual colours? As long as it stands out and is easy to see in the dark, I personally don't lose sleep over it.

The tactile feel is pretty much on the par with the G15/510 or G19 (all of which I own) and the palm wrest is actually larger than any other Logitech G-Series keyboard, which may be a plus or minus depending on how much desk space you have (it's detachable).
The M-Keys (for profile switching) and the media keys are far better positioned and are much more responsive compared to the rather clackety and "vague" G15 keys which are made of this annoying slippery, glossy plastic.

The lighting I find is actually a littler dimmer however, than my G15, but completely sufficient for night-time, low-light gaming nevertheless.

The volume wheel is not a traditional wheel but more like an over-sized mouse scroll wheel, I find it very nice to use.

You get 12 G-Keys (really who needs more?), 4 media keys, a USB 1.1 socket, a headphone jack and a microphone jack as well as three profile buttons (for a total of 36 independently programmed macro keys).

The Logitech Gaming Software used for all the G-Series mice and keyboards does it's job sufficiently but it's nothing to write home about and can give you some occasional crashing/forgetting profiles and may not detect applications correctly.

Overall though, you can't go wrong with this keyboard for $50 dollars.
