Hi all. This deal is back by popular demand. Promo runs until 11:59pm AEDT. Please stay safe, and enjoy :)

  • During the 16 hour promotional period, 50% cashback for Book Depository is capped at $10 in total per member account, irrespective of the number of transactions made. Valid 8am AEDT to 11:59pm AEDT 11/11/2020.
  • Cashback is ineligible when using codes not listed on Cashrewards.
  • You must return and click through from Cashrewards every time you make a new transaction/purchase.

  • Hi TA. Does this work for preorder?

    • I hope so, because I just used it to preorder Rhythm of War.

      Edit: cashback is tracked ok

      • Ha was just about to do the same thing! Now hardback or paperback…hmmm

        • Hardcover for sure.

@belle39: Same, I get the UK?AUD editions for all Cosmere books except for Stormlight. They just look so fantastic.

            • @HolyFosh: haha yep. I love the US covers for Stormlight, and the hardcovers are so pretty under the dust jacket. (though prefer UK editions for other Cosmere series).

    • I hope so.

Does this work if I used the last one a couple of weeks ago?

  • So using MASTERCARD5 gets 5% off. Does that mean cashback does not work? Also same question with pre-orders. Thanks

Not sure how many times I've commented this in posts, but if it helps, I'll repeat it here again. Codes such as the one above are provided to publishers for a reason. Obviously your example is a credit card supplier and any transaction using that code will commission back to them, not to Cashrewards. That's how the affiliate space works. Another example is the codes generated by 3rd party plugins such as Honey. Unbeknownst to many, they are an affiliate publisher just like cashback sites. They receive commission every time you use a code generated by them. Cashrewards gets nothing, and members are then upset as they get nothing too. You can't have everything. Only one publisher will ever be paid by advertisers for a purchase you make. So in summary, please avoid using unlisted codes to avoid disappointment. Hope this helps :)

Edit: The exception to this (sometimes, not always) is when a store openly promotes a code publicly on its home page. Generally, these are open slather and available to all, so provided Cashrewards was your last click, use of said codes should be ok.

First time I see this, it helps:)
Perhaps put in future posts or FAQ

Thanks for that. Ill be sure to check all your previous posts before asking questions again :)

Don't be silly. Happy to help any time. Have a great day :)

          • @tightarse: Thank you for that. Just noticed the book I was going to order has a date of March 2021 now. Would I be safe with the cashback for that pre-order? Sorry if you have answered before

            • @Dany34: Book Depository will charge your card immediately, so yes it will track for pre-orders.

              • @rith: Awesome. Thanks

              • @rith: But when will they confirm the cashback (available to withdraw)? The date the book is shipped?

                • @hawkeye93: I couldn't answer that, sorry! That's a good question though, and I'd imagine you're right.

                  • @rith: Thanks. Already got the cashback notification. Will see how it goes.

  • Can I use this offer for multiple times?

    • You can but it's capped at $10 total, so that's the maximum total saving you can get from this deal, no matter how many times you buy.

      i.e. if you buy 1 or 2 $30 books, you'll still get $10 back.

  • One xmas present down for overseas family - love Book Depository free shipping…..

  • Would this work again if it was claimed a couple of weeks ago, in the previous promotion?

  • Ahhh I really need to get into reading.

  • Last cashrewards I tried (first choice liquor) didn't track so doubt I'll try this one.

    • +1

Use the Cashrewards app. Less tracking issues that way.

    • Doesn't work if you have pop up / ad blockers working on your browser.

Looked at two books I have been interested in getting. One $8 cheaper on Amazon, the other $20 cheaper on Amazon. Bookdepository used to almost always be the cheapest. No more… sigh

    • same issue for me

    • +2

Book Depository still have MUCH better packing though. I've lost count of the amount of damaged books I've had from Amazon, whereas Book Dep always packs them really well. If the price is only a few dollars I still stick with Book Dep since at least I'll get my stuff undamaged.

    • Book I looked at was $17 so with 50% off cashreward it end up less than $10 (after months when can actually transfer cash) or get it from BigW for $10 now.

  • If this was $100, I would have reached the limit. Going to try for a complete set of OPM but it'll take ages at this rate

  • +6

Jacked up price on Bookdepository cheaper everywhere else. Many titles also missing.

    • Yeah with all the price jacking cheaper to buy in local Target or other local stores.

  • AWWW BOUGHT A BOOK HERE AND IHERB ORDER YESTERDAY! Ironically, all the stores I waited for, have no better pricing today. Doh!

  • Whoo hoo I was waiting for this!

Looks like amazon has come a long way in Australia. Bought a book on book depository for $24 with free shipping. So, $14 after 50% off.
Amazon have same for $16 with free shipping on prime. So, saved $2 :)

    • -1

      50% off $24 is $12

      • +2

        Cashback limit is $10

        • +2

          Ah my bad

  • +2

    thanks tracked immediately.

  • +3

Book depository, not as competitive as what I remember.

    • Yeah same, last 50% CB last month 0 from the 8 books I wanted were cheapest on Book Depository. Amazon surprisingly was the cheapest or close to it for most.

  • Are these books online only and can be read on some eReaders?

  • Nice! Good deal again TA.

Now only if there's also a 11% cashback on eBay for 11.11 singles day (super hint hint) XD

  • +1

Does this stack with the $5 bonus deal? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/580205

    • +1

"$5 bonus is over and above the advertised store cashback rates which still apply to the transaction."

  • The real trick with Book Depository is to use a VPN when you access it. The pricing varies considerably depending on which country the IP address appears to the website.

    • Please note you may lose tracking if accessing Cashrewards via a VPN.

    • +3

Ever since they introduced GST on orders being sent to Australia, the VPN trick isn't as viable any more

  • +3

Thanks - picked up Becoming by Michelle Obama for $17.19 net vs $26 at Amazon/Target/Big W.

  • +1

This is a great deal, TA. Thanks for the 2nd one.

  • +1

Awesome :) Got the wife to load up a few books and then ordered :D

  • Nice, CB tracked almost immediately. Pre-order a pokemon handbook that won't be published until August 2021 :). $7.50 after this and the $5 bonus.

  • The book I ordered from a previous Book Depository 50% Cashback deal late in October this year arrived slightly damaged. They've offered to give me a 20% refund but I was wondering whether anyone would be able to clarify whether this would invalidate my cashback?

    • Ask CR rep first.

  • I hope this deal comes back soon OP!

  • My book got delivered today, but Cashrewards still hasn't tracked my transaction - submitted a ticket.
