I am not sure about other Coles.
Usual discount price is about $4.90 previously recently.

Good for cheap clocks and calculators that don't get much use.
Personally I'd rather use them on things that get a lot of use since they're rechargeable, but maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years.
These are good LSD batteries for everything, and it would be ware to use th on a clock that might run on the cheapest disposable battery for 2 years.
Nope. Best to use in devices that require regular recharges. Remotes, clocks, calculators dont require regular changes/recharges.

Pretty bad quality I bought a pack left the batteries in a toy for a week all charge gone. Toy was not used….

Did you test to see if it was a single cell failure or multiples?
If one cell failed reckon you can go for refund or exchange? Doubt Coles would honour and time spent on doing so its not worth the effort
They have not expired therefore I expect good performance for new product out of box

Frankly I did "break in" before using them and they all returned correct capacity but in reality the answer does not match what they are
Yes they would allow you to refund/exchange if one failed.
I expect good performance out of everything I buy but sometimes failures happen.
I've been using them for years and they have always been great in my experience. Choice rated them higher than Eneloops when I was looking (they aren't what they used to be) and I have to agree, especially with price factored in.
My experience has been the opposite. I had unused eneloops (white not black ones) which didnt hold charge as long as the coles ones. The eneloops had been sitting there unused for 2-3yrs so the coles ones did have that advantage. I was rotating them each day in my recording device. Coles ones held up fine. Eneloops failed after about 6 months.

I've been using these for a while. I find having a good charger really makes a big difference!
The same batteries that only charged to 19xx mah in my old charger is constantly charging to 25xx mah in my new charger. Exceeding the rated capacity of 22xx
I test discharge them and indeed they are holding that much.

No they're "non" not "mom" rechargeable alkalines
These batteries have featured three times recently in OzBargain. I had purchased some and found them sorely poor in supplying a decent charge compared to other brands.
But the reviews were good by OzB's so I bit my tongue.
Several days ago I visited Lane Cove Coles and saw them heavily discounted. Clearance no less…why? They are rubbish I feel and laughed. And since when do rechargeable batteries have use by dates?

These are even worse than china Eneloop chocolate or white series.
I still have Sanyo ones they are still the best.
Same with Eneloop pros and ledda.

You could try Dodge but not sure if they're a deal at $170,000+.

I've been using these for years to power my remotes / wireless mice, they do the job well in that respect. Use a Duracell charger to slow-charge 'em.
I don't think they are any good, I purchased a pack and find them finish charges way to quickly than my other batteries, and don't think they last long time. the only reason it's popular because someone mentioned it on choice review

Work great for me, holding charge for ages in my wireless controller and what not.
Went to coles to buy 5 packs while on special, all gone.
No place holder on the shelf for em and no listings for them on their website now either. LOTS of coles alkaline+ now tho.
Guess their giving up selling rechargeable and would rather we just keep buying their alkaline+ ones over and over.

The Coles branded alkalines I got destroyed a flashlight after less than a month, and although Ni-MH don't have as many problems here I wouldn't trust them.
I literally wouldn't take these if I was paid to, unless they paid me enough to offset the cost of devices that get ruined.

None at Toowong but they had 6x Energizer Max AA for $3.50 reduced to clear. A few packs left.

Saw the 4 pack 62c ones this morning as well in AA/AAA/9V.
If you can afford an actual brand for rechargeable battery please do so. Laddas from IKEA come to mind.
Top Ryde had them for $4.90 last night
I got 3 packs for $4.90 each last week. The first pack I got 2 years ago lasted a year in my flash for my camera before needing recharging.
What's going on here? Ozbargain is no longer sending clear messages.
Not that long ago I deliberately went to Coles to buy their rechargeable batteries because:
1) There was no enloop sale on;
2) I live too far from Ikea and postage is a killer; and
3) Ozbargain said Coles was #3 ranked LSD rechargeable.
What has changed??
My guess would that the batteries might be produced by a company that has large batch variation or low quality control which results in some batteries being reasonable while others are not?
Nothing has changed. Some people trust Choice reviews. I don't. Remember Choice is run as a business, and most of its revenues are generated from other businesses.
