I got this meat thermometer from prime day for my mum. It’s okay, not bad. Turns on and off when you flip it it. Seems a bit weapon like. That’s all.

    • I have the exact same thermometer and it doesn't switch on-off when flipped. I haven't seen such feature mentioned in any ads so far.

      • I've got a thermometer simillar to the one linked which does the same thing and I can tell you it's not a feature! Seems like a loose wire or a bad solder joint.

      • I just double checked, mine has an auto off/on feature. It’s slightly different from this, I stand corrected. But functions and price are almost the same. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07D5BLFCP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_f…

        • Still shouldn't switch on-off upon flipping, so you may want to have it replaced.

  • Cheers OP

  • Thanks bought it

  • Been waiting for a deal on a Thermapen but yet to find any and they retail for $165 and am really struggling to justify the cost!

who's got one of these and how have they found it?

I've got one, and it works surprisingly well. Actually just used it last night to do a roast pork.
only takes a few seconds to give you a reading, much nicer than ones I've used in the past where it seams to take 15sec or so.

    • was in the same boat, ended up getting one of these and they do the job well

try thermapen.co.uk, and look in the special offers page

the white, rainbow, orange and blue are available for £36 and about £55 delivered.. these are the classic version so it doesn’t have a few new additions the new MK4 version has (backlight, rotating display)..

I’ve had my one for 7 years, still fantastic

  • Got one last time on Prime Day, very good!

  • Got one myself, not bad for the price. The only draw back is the chart on the casing using Fahrenheit instead of Celsius.

  • Is this a good brand? Reayou

  • Could I use this as a candy thermomotor ?
