Bought a Telstra cordless phone a few years ago, with similar orange display. Seems the orange liquid crystals started leaking, getting between the contacts and the buttons. Have to clean it once a year. Other than that a great phone.

thought someone had submerged the phone in orange juice accidentally. I cleaned it thoroughly until it happened again.
I thought the orange was due to the orange backlight.
did some research. apparently there is a cup of orange juice in each phone to give the bright colour. If they get shaken too much the orange jizz can get out, however it is unsafe to drink as it did come from a Chinese toilet.
Telstra deny this.
