Looks the same as the one sold local at Bunnings for $99.98, both come with a few sanding discs. It's a good little unit.

    whoah, that's random

  • Will Bunnings price beat?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/price-policy

    • They won’t. Ryobi Australia uses a different model designation…and this one is US.

      • Hmmm… buying locally vs buying from US with a $20 discount.

Hard nup. Pity that Amazon doesnt have more expensive Ryobi tools available, though with a bigger discount it might be worth the risk.

  • This, or the RENPHO rechargeable ?

  • Nice, have this on my Bunnings wish list. This is shipped from Amazon US, delivery 20-24 Nov. I suspect Bunnings will only match the non-Prime delivery of $20, so nothing to beat.

Looks like its the US spec one, probably wont be able to get the extended warranty through Ryobi Australia since they only accept bunnings receipts

Tempting, but I'd probably pay the extra $20 to buy locally and get the 6 year warranty.

    • My first thought too.

  • I bought the one form Bunnings a while back, but it was stuffed. You had to press down on it, and it would slowly ramp up and start working, but would soon stop. They were happy to take it back, but according to them, sanding car panels creates dust that is too fine for it. I don't know if that's true, but something to consider if that's what you plan on doing with it.

  • I have an older one of these, with a 2Ah battery fully charged it's about 10mins of use then you're back to sand paper and a sanding block.

Makes the Energizer Bunny look energy efficient!

That's because you're using the tiniest 2Ah battery.
If you need more runtime there are 9Ah Ryobi batteries. It also makes sense to own a couple, so you can use a second battery whilst the first charges.

      • You dont want to use a 9AH battery with this, they are massive.

  • Before amazon arrived in Australia, there would be heaps of cheap prices on ryobi.

  • Mine stopped working after about 2 years. It's ok for light sanding but I would recommend a corded random orbital sander with speed control instead.
Also, it eats battery really fast so keep that in mind if you plan to use it for larger projects.
