Brutal game, I really enjoyed it but I ultimately failed and can't go back

  • It's worth noting that it is the kind of game where if you don't memorise the possible outcomes of each encountered curio and boss, or keep a wiki tab open, you will be somewhat at a disadvantage compared to those who do. The game constantly autosaves and has permadeath, so you'll want to play to the best of your ability.

I have this on PC, but not Switch, because browsing a Wiki on a phone is significantly less convenient then reading off a second monitor.

  • How the hell do you get through the early game? Stress is impossible to avoid!

People on forums love to go "use this character type and this skill".. But I can't get any of those characters..

    • I found this game is mostly about damage/stress control.

In the early stage of game, unless you are in luck, you wont have access to hero types with reducing stress skills. You will have to abandon one or two char you like, and have to work with your hero rotation until the point you open up facilities/heroes/equipment etc that helps you to mitigate stress and diseases.

You should invest on heroes, but also you will have to decide when to ditch the hero too, as the stress/disease they attract will become bigger cost than they would return for each journey

    • Don't forget about stress relief skills at camping on medium/long missions.

  • I remember my days when COVID outbreak started and tried to maintain my job while playing this game as a distraction. Good old days.
