For FIFA/NBA2k etc if you can hang out to Black Friday these almost always drop down to $39 every year - maybe $49 this year with the price increases.

Wait until Black Friday. The last couple of years it dropped to around $60 on the Xbox store BF sale. PS store should be similar.
I don't think the disc PS4 edition gets the upgrade to PS5 right? Only Digital does?

On the ps4 disc box/case there’s a sticker on the front which says free upgrade to ps5.
So both disc and digital will get a free upgrade.

from what i've heard and read, FIFA 21 is pretty much FIFA 20 season update just like Pro Evolution Soccer 2021.

I bought this game for $67. I honestly don't get the negativity. If you haven't bought a Fifa game it's great. If you bought Fifa 20 it's not worth the upgrade. However for anything older it's fine. Also I'm not sure what people are expecting. Fifa will never be revolutionary. All you can expect is small refinements

Why? This kind of mentality is silly. If they aren't going to do any meaningful updates, then they should just release squad updates as DLC. It's ridiculous that they are pricing it as a new game when they have barely made any changes.
Well I agree with this. Squad updates makes sense but they won't be EA if they don't steal as much from the consumer as they do.
But it's the same old story of supply and demand if they make products and people want to buy them, they will keep doing it. Exactly like Activision and COD
Don't listen to the online trolls targeting FIFA 21, the game itself is miles better than FIFA 20 and has made some impressive improvements regarding FUT and general gameplay.

Game is good, minor improvements, new skill moves to learn. The downside is I would not pay $60, just buy secondhand from CC or preowned for $30
